If the players have been on your team for long time(a bit less than a season), the number of sold players doesn't play much of a role, at least not in my experience.
I have been "purging" my roster as well, since there was quite a lot of turmoil lately, inflation and all, and my players reached 95-96% after roughly 10-12 weeks. I had 14 transfers in the last 14 weeks at one point.
