You should be fine with something around 15000-5000-500-50. But maybe try to reach D3 before finishing your stadium

You can see the average arena size per division in the community tab. This will give you a good starting point.
I'm of the view that lower tier and bleachers should be a bit more even than most people choose to build.
The game manual pretty clearly states that bleacher attendance is susceptible to wild fluctuations due to your teams record. So having a bleacher dominant arena requires you to constantly win.
I'm heading towards a 12k to 10k Bleacher/lower tier split.
I highly recommend this type of arena, despite it taking longer to build.

You could be right about the viability for DIV 3.
I'm not 100% sure if 10k can be achieved in Div. I but i assume so.
I got 8659 at $29 and 8563 at $30 earlier on before i lost to my rival. I would think 11,000 might be attainable at $18.

Unfortunately it is impossible to resize the arena.
If it would be possible, I would go for: 65-70% - 35-30% - 500 - 50 ... to a max. of 15k to 20k.
founded in S3 IV.5 (34234) - returned in S28 IV.7 (34515)

That's interesting.
Whilst i don't purport to have the 'perfect' arena ratio's, I think its certainly better than the standard 15k,5k,500,50.
In the 3 season I've made it to DIV I in my country I've finished with 3,6 and 0 (Current) wins. But, finished 3rd, 2nd and 4th (current) in regular season gate receipts.
In DIV II, since I've had the arena with higher LT seating, i've always finished 1st.
I'm not sure why your friend with 10k, 10k, couldn't make it work.

Well, what you describe is just called the promotion boost...
I ended 2nd last season with 16k-5k-500-50. I was only behind the defending champ who ended with a 21-1 record.
You have to think about the return on investment, it takes more time to earn money from the lower tier seats than the bleachers. And also it costs more, while you could spend this money differently to maximize other sources of earnings (for example buying good players to get better results and promote)

Entirely possible that it is a result of the promotion boost. But, 5 teams promote to a league above every season and I've always beaten them in gate receipts, whilst having a worse record.
I would suggest you finished second last season because your good enough to make the playoffs and because the majority of your league has an arena like yours, so its only natural that team record would allow you to charge more, thus earn more.
How much money did you earn over last regular season in gate receipts?
In any event, whilst promotion boost maybe the explanation for DIV I, what is the explanation for getting relegated every other season and still winning DIV II gate receipts? Is there not a penalty for getting relegated?
I think the obvious answer is that promotion bonus and relegation penalty effects the bleachers the most.

You're right about the fact that lower tier seats bring more money and are less affected by relegation penalty, but my main point was about the time and money you need to build a 10k/10k rather than a classic 15k/5k.
It costs 2.5M$ more and will take seasons to build for a new team. Only to get what, maybe 30k$ a game if you stay in the upper leagues ?
I'm sure there are other ways to spend this money and get more results.
Imho, if you wanna get the better efficiency, then build a 15k/5k like arena, even more if you're a new team. If you wanna get the biggest gate receipts (but at what cost), then get the 10k/10k like arena + the 2 or 4M$ arena design.

I agree, it takes longer and costs more money to build a more evenly distributed arena.
I'm not trying to be argumentative but i think its a competitive advantage once you get there.
I obviously had the added bonus that i play in a relatively small country with limited managers, so i was able to compete and build at the same time.
I don't know, but i think the advantage is more than $30K per game once i get player parity with the league.
For some perspective, in the last home game of this season, when comparing to my promotion peers who have all won at least 1 game, I received between 60-101k more for that game. I got 145k more than one, but lets leave them out because their arena size isn't comparable at only 15k total.
So 60-101k per game over a season is $1 million dollars more. I could either bank that profit or take on an extra 100k per week salary player.
That's a pretty big competitive advantage, which i assume will increase (but at a smaller rate) when/if i start winning.
I appreciate the conversation from a more experienced player.
