Yes, auto-retirement would be most welcome. Also, hopefully, easier to implement

Auto retirement would be great. I know some like the whole atrocious 60's thing, but I want to be able to gracefully retire the guys I drafted and trained up to NT standard over a full career, and right now the only way to do that is to wait for them to decline to the point where no-one else would want them even if they end up on free agency, and then callously fire the player.

As an owner ho has 3 70+ year-olds on his team and one 49 year-old, I am definitely in favor of autoretirement (50/55/60, whatever).
I just can't bring myself to firing these guys who have been on my team for a decade plus in real-life years, but after a while it does get a bit ridiculous.

Also, non auto-retirement (meaning, the owner chooses to retire a player) could also be an option, obviously after a certain age (50?), when they are of no use to national teams.

I agree!

Also this could have another benefits but for example, that the server run faster, not keeping info of useless players(I don't know, I'm not a code programmer neither engineer), or be more used the "hall of fame" option instead of keeping the player. And why not as others users said, the option to keep the player; but don't seem realistic to have a 50 years old player without skills.

I like old players. They're cheap to fill the holes in the lineup.

And what about injury prolongation at higher age? At some point the injury will be permanent. And there can be retirement at 99 age to complete the task.

I would suggest mixing this up with staff members. At the moment promoting an old player to a staff member doesnt make sense because of the wage. Market is way more friendly if you buy a cheaper salary coach. what if we reduced the wages of retired players as staff members by ~30% and reduce the weekly wage increase by 50%, BUT only players aged 45-50 are eligible for this and if You dont do it until they turn 51, they retire from buzzerbeater move to a small town in west France and open a patisserie like they have always dreamed of.
