My guess is you can probably buy some older guys with salaries in the $3000/week range for peanuts. Would probably cut most people making a lot less than that...

Ah another familiar HT face.

So basically strip down my roster to have 2 players in each position? And if I hope to train my guards for example rather than my big men, then buy the appropriately young and higher potential (and currents) guards ... while selling my young big men talent and replacing them with older big men?

You can only really use 12 or 13 players, and it might not be easy to get enough playing time for all those to stay in game shape. I suppose starting out you might keep 15 until you figure out which have useful skills.

BB puts a much higher premium on multiple skills than HT, and Mr Huggins is pretty imbalanced with no D, plus he has low potential.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I'd say a roster of about 12 should work - if you have more than that, then you're spreading your minutes a little thin, and the players who aren't getting enough minutes will have bad game shape (form) which means you'll be less inclined to play them, so their game shape will get worse, and so on.

I'm running 12 right now, and two are basically scrimmage filler for when I don't forget that Kazakh games are early in the morning.

Yeah, I think you got the idea. I think most people not in top divisions are probably training either SG/PG or PF/C and you need six trainees to maximize training. Probably need another six or seven players to cover the other three position and handle injures etc.

Can someone change the title of this thread?

Every time I see [NEWBIW] I think I'm reading some new acronym and no one will tell me what it stands for.

So I decided it stands for New England White Boys In Water.
