No, at first I added up my players points on their individual pages - it shows their complete game stats once the game starts.

Only then did I find the rivalries "bug".

There are a number of bugs on player pages that allow you to see the result of the match before it's over.
The site is currently being converted to an newer, faster updated version in which all of these issues will be fixed.
Until that time, it's probably best not to click around while games are in progress :-)
