i'm in the same league you are and i can tell you that you're not really doing things wrong really. your conference has a few powerhouses that have been there for a few seasons. you might want to run a 3-2 zone more often since they have some pretty good outside players. just keep training players and you should be able to catch up.

but in those specific matches, did i play the wrong tactic or not play well enough to win? i'm looking at several of my games and seeing my team's ratings being slightly higher than my opponent's, and i'm still not winning. i feel like i'm missing some important aspect of the game and that's the reason i'm coming up short. either that or i'm reading it all wrong.

or... i have horrible luck.

Your opponent was playing at home and used CT or you were TIE-ing. Simple...

i played normal in that cup match. he CT'd and had home court, but look at the ratings. those things should be reflected there, right? if they aren't, then that would explain some of my confusion on this.

CT isn't reflected in the team ratings.

You seem to have only one trainable player, in my opinion: John Patton. You need to get a training program in place.

i've got 5 other guys that i've been training for a couple of seasons. he was my only decent draft pick this year. thanks for taking a look, though.

You're not training them very effectively, in that case. I don't think you have any that break the $10,000 mark in salary. After that 18 yr old, the rest of your guys are 20+. I would have to see them but I doubt they are strong training options.

they're not ideal, but they are pretty evenly trained with no one skill far beyond the others, which explains the lower salaries somewhat. they'll all be sold in the next season or so. hopefully my next draft and purchases with some cash on hand will improve things.

I try not to go strictly by the ratings, they CAN be misleading. You can have a slightly better ID than thier IS but there could be one mismatch getting exploited.

I think the strategy of training younger players isnt just to produce top notch players, but to put cash in the coffers. In other words, I think the sooner you replace the older players you are training with younger guys the better. Just an old man's opinion though :)
