No, you are right on, kytihu. The minutes do count toward any training that might be done...Pappy

However, they do get money from the TB attendance, right? Shouldn't teams that win the series in 2 games get some added cash revenue? Perhaps a 50k media bonus?

I mean, a team that plays a three game series and wins the tourney will have a slight advantage, revenue wise, over teams that win in 2. From what I've seen in this engine, you guys reward the good teams with more attendance, contracts, and merchandise... wouldn't this be going in the opposite direction by rewarding mediocrity? I know some people would try and tank game 2 so they can get the attendance revenue in the TB.

Shouldn't their be incentive to win in 2? Either that, or I'm all for no attendance revenue for TB... you know, kinda treat it like a scrimmage without the training.

In theory one could imagine tanking game 2 for the revenues of a game 3, but it is my experience that finals are closely fought contests. I did well this past season, but I have too much respect (fear) of the randomness of the game (I shoot poorly, my star gets injured in the first three minutes, his starters can't miss) to play games with revenue. I win, I advance, I get a bonus -- and at my level, the bonus for advancing is still more than 1/3 or 2/3 of any gate.

Actually a lot of ppl tank their game 2 to gain more money in the third game. However, it is not without risks.

My TB game was almost an example. 3 mins into the game my star player got injured. The second quarter my second star player got into foul trouble. Luckily my remaining team managed to pull through.

So technically tanking the second game has its risks so really need to think twice before opting for it.

I in fact did just that. Won the first game 103-63 at my place. For game 2, I chose the worst possible offensive and defensive schemes for me and Playoff Normal effort at his place... lost by 7. Now I have the TB at my place, enthusiasm at 9.

Sure, some risk, but worth it in my head for my situation. Everyone has different risk aversion levels, of course.

Looks like the risk is paying off. Up 57-17 at halftime. Thrilling league championship. :/
