I believe that the rules would be much easier for people to understand if we could use the Original English and other languages, like Spanish, French and German, since the bulk of BB comes from Europe.

You could use the german, spanish translation etc. And normally they are good, but you find sometimes little faults in it, or inaccuracet formulations sometimes because they aren't the same possibilities in the language like in english.

For example we got a discussion about princeton in german forum, and someone cites the german rule to show that princeton just go on 3 pt.

Princeton: ausgeglichen, aber weniger 2 Punkt Würfe; langsamerer Spielaufbau

When i back translate this passage, it sounds like that

Princeton: balanced, but less 2 Point shots(edit: here it should including 2point shots near the basket, even the back translation brings it more back to the original) , slow pace

you see the sligthly different to your passage, which could led you into a confusion.

Also i like to use the engl. version for discussion in the global from time to time, and sometimes you need them to make your point ;) Thats why i like to have an link to the original rules, without making the whole procedere with the change of my language in the profil especially if the BB say that only the english US rule "are right".

Well, then, there's no reason we can't use European/Original English as an official language. The difference between that and American English is minimal in the rules.

oh you mean that ;)

I missunderstood you, yes that is possible that the BB read their rules to and give them a OK - even if it no big deal if playing in US englisch instead of the european as you said the difference is pretty small.

There is indeed a reason - American English is one that is written directly by the BBs, with no alterations possible by an LA.
