Eddie Burris and Teng Wenze are definitely foul happy guys. Burris is averaging about 4 fouls a game this season and Wenze 3.

Outside of them, your guys are not exactly stellar defenders. But some people think that only the physicality trait influences fouling...

Anyhow, some of his strategies helped. He played a very high pace, which by itself does not encourage fouling. However, it does make the game go faster and results in more possessions = most shots. He played look inside and inside play also leads to more fouls. A couple other points:

-You were on the road - this usually results in more calls going against you in my experience.
-He tried harder than you. I don't know this for sure but have a feeling that your attitude has an impact on fouling.
-You played let them play. Again, people have argued this with me, but I tend to see players foul more once they get into foul trouble.

I hope that helps.

Eddie Burris isn't a fouler just the games he has played in the past. He has played better players than him causing fouls. Also Let it play lead to a foul out or two in previous games.

Teng is foul happy. I think this guys wants to collect the most fouls in a career

Defense? I mean my defenders have defended better shooters and had less fouls in the past.

I also played for fouls sit them. I.e. why my starters had less minutes than the bench in some situations. My starting PG had 11 minutes and didn't foul out til the 4th quarter. Cos he was benched all game.

I was wondering about CT causing fouls?

Good to know about away games and fouls.

The opposition played Push the Ball not Look Inside but you pace point would apply to this too. He also shot more inside I think.

Thanks for the help

Sorry about the mistakes and don't take anything I say as gospel. They are just some thoughts I have working in my head at the moment.

As I said, some people think that the only thing that impacts fouling is their hidden physicality (and also that of the match-up that they're facing). I think there are some others that clearly impact (home court, inside play) but the rest is just a guess.

I also have noticed that more fouls are called on missed shots than anything else. It is very rare to see a foul called on a shot that is made. So if your opponent is missing a lot of shots, your chances to foul may be higher (this is just a theory that I'm working on and may be completely unfounded, though).

You want to see fouls on a made shot? I get about 2 -3 a game.

I think I might have some foulers

Shooting fouls and fouls on made shots happen. Tonight I saw more defensive shooting fouls. Sometimes I see made shot and offensive shooting foul. My opponent had five players with 4 fouls, sitting on the bench until fourth quarter.

That's my belief also but some are really adamantly against it (very experienced users, too). Do you have some hard evidence?

Shooting fouls and fouls on made shots happen.

I never talked about shooting fouls - which are fairly common. My point on fouls for made shots is that they are very rare. Not that they never happen.

So, to sum up:

-fouls on missed shots = fairly common
-offensive fouls = fairly common (I suspect they are somewhat attributed to low offensive flow, however)
-other fouls = fairly common
-fouls on made shots = rare

So, to sum up, my theory is that if you are making all your shots you are probably not drawing many fouls. Anyone care to dispute my assumption?

It´s not that easy to make the shot with someone hanging in your arms...

I'm pretty sure that in the NBA there are more instances where people make shots when fouled (at least 2-3 times per game). In BB you're lucky to see it once every 2-3 games.

Thenewchuck thanks for the correction. Although I did get 2 in my recent game, I do not see fouls on made shots as much as the NBA does. From where could we get the four point plays and six point plays without?
