Can local players be considered someone that played in a team in your league previously?

I happened to be lucky enough to find a bot player sale from a team in my league, that happened to be from like season 8, but looking at the history of sales, determined he was from a fellow league member originally. He is a decent player (top 2-3 in my team position) and his age did not matter so I bought him.

and...
My merch sales went up by 1.5K last week with him playing some.

Coincidence?

I think it is a coincidence....or more about your success. From my understanding you could have a guy on your roster for 10 seasons, sell him, buy him back in a week, and he will still be considered a brand new player on your team as far as merchandising goes.

So should I keep the superior doctor and the advanced trainer?
I'm still expanding my arena, so it will get bigger and bigger. I thought the PR manager has an effect on the merchenside? that means lower the lvl of PR manager, lesser the merchendise. My merchendise is currently about 35k but if I change my PR manager to competent, will the merchendise still be the same? What I noticed was that previously I had superior PR manager and when I replaced with the advanced PR manager, my merchendise was still increasing. Do you think that will still happen if I get a competent PR manager?

Yeah keep the doctor and trainer. I would go for a level 2 PR with a specialty. The extra salary you pay for a level 4 PR manager isn't going to give the same amount extra in merchandise.
I think if you get a basic pr manager with about 5 or 6k salary your merchandise will still increase over the next few weeks. Might drop 1 or 2k in the first week but will increase after that.

Yeah, I've been trying to for about a week and a half, I just hate dishing out +75K for 11-12k salary.

You act like the only thing a PR manager does it help with merchandise, but in the game manual it says this:

"Public Relations Managers help market the team to the fans, encouraging more people to show up to games and be willing to pay more for tickets."

While I agree with you that a level 4 PR manager is too high, that is clearly out of speculation. Do you have any evidence you can link me to that experiments with the PR manager and what not?

I have a level 3 guy right now and have had pretty steady income for the last couple games, but I'm not sure if I want to risk degrading to a level 2 to see the effects as it might be worse off for me and a link would really help :)
