Yeah, back in the days when they were still active.

I had a guard with high driving and high IS and he dunked much more than other guards... however I dont know if this was just a presentational difference...

I have a guard with prodigious driving and atrocious IS. He scores ok I guess.

Mind you most of those are JS at the freethrow line, but he also layups.

Will a guy with very good driving and low JS or IS try more shots than you would like him too?

My PG Parodi has a 14 as the driving skill and a 2 as the IS. last saison, 1/3 of his actions were driving layups with a success rate of almost 60%. this saison it's almost the same. until now, 35 driving layups and the other actions are 83. from his 35 layups he scored 58%.
My SG Klahn has a lower driving than Parodi. But his most used action is also the driving layup. the problem is, his success rate is lower -.- btw, Klahn has IS 1 ;) but his JS is 3 skilllevels higher.

Great response!!

So you're suggesting that driving is a scoring option on its own without the need for other skills, yes?

yes and no. i think driving is an underrated skill. your guards live from their driving. as you can see, my guards go to the basket and they try the layup, and they are successful ;) but i don't know if JS isn't important. Parodi has 14 and Klahn 17, but Parodi is more succesful.
this season i'm trying to find out what is important for my guards. the reason is my swedish SG. his guardskills are eqaul now and he's shooting from everywhere. and with everywhere i may everywhere. he has no prefered actions... so this season i'm training driving. and if his driving layups are going up, than yes, i will think that driving is kind of a shooting skill. after that i'm going to find out if handling and range have an influence on the driving layups... guards, which can score from the perimeter, from mid-range and from the inside are monsters with Princeton... ;) and i'm going to build such a monster^^

I look forward to hearing about it. I know it's a big ask, but will you repost here or?

I especially like the idea of bigs with good JR and JS, seeing how that goes.

i'm also a fan of bigs with guardskills. a PF without OD and JS is useless. i don't like the 100%-inside-guys.

yeah, i can post here.
