Definitely. Great idea.

It actually helps with the training because you have more control over what the coach does.

There is one problem though. From what I understand, the real goal this isn't necessarily (only) to protect your starters -- it is also trying to make the game a bit more newbie friendly, and protect brand new teams from getting beat by 80 points.

I agree that there are games in which one would like that the blowout rule didn't kick in, but that might defeat its original purpose.

But if you llok at the game by itself, the blowout rule is useless in this diszipline ...

Because you can't play your strongers players every game as a starter, with good luck you could do that in 2 games but more often you play one game with your best pf and one or two with him as backup.

This doesn't invalidate the purpose of the rule that I mentioned.

I don't see an easy way around this. The question is, how often the scenario described by you happens. In any case, my guess will be that it generally targets league games, not Cup games.

maybe it don't eliminate the purpose, but it doesn't helps ... Must game si win clearly, i would play with my weaker player because i need the better one for the other games ...

Thats likesolving the problem of to fast cars, in tuning all cars that they could drive faster ...

You could solve that, in playing the teams weaker then they are like an additionell tie late in the game.

I think the easy way around this is to give up on people's feelings. Everyone will take a few lumps when they first start. If you happen to match up against a team way better than you, you're not an idiot. You will realize that you will get beaten badly. You deal with it and build your team.

If they choose to do so, a drop-down menu option will be sufficient. After all, there are times when you'd like to conserve the starters if you're winning the game.

I do agree that it will be beneficial in terms of controlling training minutes, and I remember suggesting a while ago that the blowout rule be altogether dropped from non-competitive games without any options.

i think this is a good approach.. maybe not by as many points as possible, but just stop subbing the C or B players in for the A team.. there's a reason why they should be playing 35-40 mins!

why not go the whole hog and really go to town on teams you think you will thrash...

send out certain players with instructions to break the all time points/assists/rebounds etc stats....

same prob here, training is to complicated already, and that prob nearly happens every game to me, so its a mess to give everyone his minutes...

It happens quite often for me. I don't have a lot of competitive games in my series. I often play my reserves as starters and my regulars are backups. It sucks from a training perspective and from my opponent's side of things.

In general, if you're going to blow the other team out you're going to be starting your reserves. This is especially true if you are an experienced player against a newbie.
