I have a feeling you should report AFTER the game, how your specific "empty lineup" was set and how it worked/not worked.
Example:
"I set Player A as a starter, backup and reserv on PG, same for Player B on SG, then empty spots on SF,PF,C. Had picked 9 players. It worked wonders for me, both PG and SG played all 48minutes, my "pure" C played 40 minutes as C and my SF played 28 minutes as SF and 5 as PF, and the backup SF 10 minutes at SF while my two best PF shared the load on PF with 22,20 minutes. My scrubs had up to 5 minutes each at random positions."

I was able to submit a blank lineup successfully for my next PL game.

It's no. 2. Walkovers are not affected by the change. This feature will only be used when none or just one starter is set. If the number of players dressed (in the roster) is lower than the walkover minimum, the game will still be a walkover.

I think that the removal of blank lineup would be an amazing idea.
It should have been done a while ago.
Who deserves to get rewarded by letting your fictional coach decide who goes in at the specific time.
If you want to do well in your games,
do it in work not by luck.

Not sure if you're serious or not.
I Find blank a loophole that needed fixing.
The game like every other one except this one should require the manager to set a line up.
That it is the laziest AND the most effective is certainly a good enough reason to be rid of it.
Good riddance!

Blank lineup has the best, most realistic substitutions. I don't want to see this option removed until they provide more control on substitutions.

I'd be in favor of the removal of "blank lineups" but we really do need some different substitution patterns to take it's place. Something like a slider to indicate the minutes share given to backup-starter and an ability to set a working rotation among multiple spots (thinking 3 bigs rotating equally among PF/C).

The blank lineup has certainly pissed me off.

A team with 7 players having guys sub out at various different times is certainly annoying. This really makes it hard to plan against a team doing that.

The other issues is that the players are "fresher" in the 4th. In a close game this can really suck for the traditionalist.

It also annoys me that it is easier to manage gameshape with blank lineups than it is with setting the depth chart. Good riddance.

So I think this will be a good change overall.
