offense:

1) 1on1 to build DR up, 1-2 seasons training
2) OD. it will benefit from the high DR. wouldn't go higher than 15/16
3) JR... the tricky part. you will need JR 14 and these 13 ups will take around 2-2,5 seasons :( At the same time you will get a lot JS
4) train PA until 12
5) choose two main and two supporter inside skills. IS/RB and ID/SB are nice combinations. depending on your choice your SF will be more aggressive and fight for ORs or more balanced and defend on a strong level

defense:
Forget JR!
1) OD until 15, trains ID - every 8 weeks an up
2) SB until 15, train ID - every 4-6 weeks an up
3) ID until 15
4) you can train JR until 7 or 8 to balance him out, JS will receive 1-2 ups too
5) go for PA 15. this will finish DR and give HA some ups
6) finish HA 15
7) IS 12 and JS 12

and from here on you can train OD, ID and SB to 17.Again OD before SB before ID.

Thanks for your post! I choose either between training him offensively or defensively? Have I understood you correctly then?

Yes, you understood me correctly. With a pot 9 player you are limited with the Skills. If you build a SF you have to choose a specialization for him. It's a small diference we are talking about here. You can say 16 is enough as the highest skill and use the time for the other ones. So he will be more balanced. But from an NT view I would recommend at least 17 in the main skills. So def it would be ID, OD and SB and off JS, DR, IS and JR. With this your player will be around the same level as his opponent.

Theoretically... A MVP can reach all Skills at 15... But noone did this until now. ;)

You are training 1on1 fowards or? If yes, keep this up for this season. I will post some ideas later when I'm using my notebook. With his height you can do many different skillsets. Do you want a more offensive or defensiv guy?

This week I was thinking of training him OD, but I haven't really understood where he would be best. PF/SF? I would like an all-rounder but if there is only one way to go I would like him to be an offensive monster. Last 2 weeks he was trained inside scoring and inside defense, popped in IS, JS this week and only ID last week I think.

You might just have, Bast is such a gossip. Thanks, I only have advanced, tried getting a superior but couldn't spend money with being new.. Have to wait a bit before getting a new trainer.

Hello!

I have a prospect Peter Håkansson with these attributes, please guide me master lord of Swedish NT. What should I do with him?

Age: 18
Height: 6'6" / 198 cm
Potential: hall of famer

Jump Shot: respectable ↑ Jump Range: mediocre
Outside Def.: mediocre Handling: awful
Driving: average Passing: awful
Inside Shot: awful ↑ Inside Def.: respectable
Rebounding: average Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: mediocre Free Throw: mediocre

I though about three options.

1 - Offense:
Looking at your team and your current situation, I would recommend a switching training. It looks like that:
Train 1on1 forwards until you receive an up in Driving.
Switch to 1 position training for PG and train Pressure (OD). Again until you get an up.
After that you switch to JR and train it until an up.
And than you start again with 1on1 forwards and goes through the process.

With this you will get ups in DR, HA, IS, JS, OD, ID and JR.
I would suggest to train like this until OD 15.
Than you move to passing. Thanks to the high skills (OD, DR and HA) passing will train very fast (elastic effect).

With this kind of training your DR should be around 18.
From here on you have two ways. Go for OD or JR. And after you reach 18 in one of them, switch to the other.
The last skill you need is IS. You can train it as on the SF position until you reach the cap or the wanted skill.

2 - Balanced:
You start the same way like in 1.
After your DR reaches 14, you finish the up in OD and JR and than go for passing.
After passing you should train ID and IS. Again, one up in ID, than one up in IS.
After that you can train the last skills in OD, JR and JS.

3 - Defense:
Start with OD. Train it until 15.
Go for SB and train it until 10.
Both skills train ID as a secondary. You will get around 5 skill ups in ID.
After SB go for ID 15.

After this basic training you can train 1on1 forwards until DR 12. Switch to PA until 15.

And from here on you are free to decide if you go for more OD and ID, than you should take more PA too. Or you train JR/JS to give your player more offense. For a NT SF OD 17 - ID 17 would be really great.

These three are some ideas. If one of them suits you, we can go for a more detailed plan

If you guys take look at the transfer list, there is a 22 y/o MVP with OD 16, ID 16 and SB 17. His defense is already at a NT level. And it shows what is possible. He needs offense skills now but with 22 he has a lot of time.
