Coach Nuggets makes a good point about "adequately sized arena." An adequately sized arena does not conflict with the points I raised one bit. An adequately sized arena is about the seats you will fill when you promote. It is not about empty seats.

Phyr, on the other hand, is blowing the same smoke at new managers that has been blown at them for years by a few individuals. Notice, however, that even he didn't disagree with a single point I raised. Phyr, if you want to disagree with me, be specific. Which point do you disagree with? Here are my points again:
(1) Empty seats don't make any baskets or free throws,
(2) empty seats don't make any steals or rebounds,
(3) empty seats don't make any three's or defend anyone.

Your points are valid Mike Frank's but I have to agree with Phyr. Arena seats are needed. Build your arena first so you have that revenue. You say if they don't fill that's empty seats which is true but I sell 90% of my seats and it brings me 150k weekly income as long as you don't make some absurd prices like you have with your arena hence the empty seats. Buying players and not being able to sustain their salaries is just stupid. More arena seats=more revenue. More revenue=Being able to sustain good players salaries.

Empty seats = ZERO revenue.

You say if they don't fill that's empty seats which is true but I sell 90% of my seats ...
Filled seats aren't what we are talking about.

More arena seats=more revenue.
No, not exactly. FILLED seats = revenue. Empty seats = money you could have spent better. Get it now?

Any experienced manager who can convince newbies to waste money on empty seats will have successfully postponed a bit of competition from the newbie, although some of them may actually believe what they are saying.

Moot indeed.

As the season and wins progressed I was consistently selling out 19,000+ seats in D-V, easily. I was making over 150K in revenue. I often tanked to D-V for that reason while rebuilding and training draftees.

Empty seats can't wash your car.
Empty seats don't get you bonus travel miles.
Empty seats won't order you Chipotle.
Empty seats won't win you arguments on the internet.
