Are we gonna address the elephant in the room or what ?
The talk about new users and why they don't come and how would they come is all nice but lets be real and prioritise here.
It is like we are looking outside our shop window and wondering why all those people are not coming in, while our building is on the verge of collapse and everyday brings us closer to the walls falling down on our heads!
Lets take a look at our game and what it's like nowadays for us already playing it.
The reality is that it has gotten worse in every style of long term play mode one could have chosen.
* We had the math junkies that loved the beauty of it and lived for measuring and analysing data.
The game has gotten pretty much immeasurable, due to changes over the last seasons.
The pp100s for instance, after the changes to JR/JS/SB are all over the place, especially for outside tactics, for so many seasons.
The answer was "NO nothing's changed" and in an undisclosed location an (actual)quantum mechanics physicist started hyperventilating.
* We had the economy junkies that loved to accumulate money.
The game's economy has collapsed and every measure taken targets the drainage of teams' reserves.
Penalty for having money, penalty for spending money, penalty for not spending money, bonus a mild heart attack every time you dare look at the transfer list prices!
* We have the training junkies, them weirdos that love Fridays.
It wasn't enough that training was unrealistic and counter intuitive nor that you can't train three 48mins single position unless you wanna dress five player line ups, we gonna mess with you by making multiple changes season after season over skills, salaries, potentials, so you lose your mind apart from your money and your training plan over the 10+ seasons you train a player.
Wait, hang on, one last thing, remember all those years you've been moaning about GS, now we connected it in a magical and mysterious way to stamina, to mess with you and everybody else, real good!
*And then we have the "tactics junkies", that love winning and outsmarting their opponents.
Take a look at any Division I (in any non micro-nation), where the crème de la crème plays and competes!
Their depleted competitive rosters consist at an +80% of players that are 33+ years old.
They don't live and die by their Saturday/Tuesday/Thursday matches anymore, their season first and foremost depends on the pop downs they and their opponents will endure during the season.
You can't control how many skills your oldies will lose, you can't control what skills they'll lose, it's time to stop pretending you're Pop...unless your oldies are named Tim, Tony and Manu that is!
p.s the last seasons we saw GMs, an EGM and a BB quit. We can hide behind our finger, on that too...
