I welcome the change since the current situation favors 18 year olds.

1. In the drafts in my league I don't see anyone ranking 70 TSP 19 year olds over 60 TSP 18 year olds with everything else equal.

2. Majority (80+%) of 150+ TSP players I see were drafted as 18 year olds. This goes to 100% for 160 TSP players.

3. China NT only has 1 out of 17 players drafted as 19 year old.

But I get your point that the change done should not be too drastic. I believe that even with the new changes, we won't see 100 TSP 19 year olds. Otherwise, I would draft them over 18 year olds too :)

I second your opinion. Since the changes where 19yo's started having skills of 8, we've only seen a single player with 78+ tsp being drafted. I can only recall that he was canadian and subMVP potential. So I really don't understand the commotion here.

And it's crazy to me that we've been taking an example of a player with all skills being 9.999. Of course he's going to be better than the 18yolds. Player with all 8.999 is also going to be better than 18yolds in the long run. But come on? What are the odds of that happening?

100% there are different weights to roll certain skills, or they have different floor/ceilings according to draftee statlines. It's protected from being overpowered.

(49554111). Here's an abnormality. Most of the time we don't see such quality 19y olds, and lets make his 8's to 9's.
Now we have him and a 18yo that hit the same lottery with the 7's and that's been trained with a 6/6 1x1 for a whole season(+16tsp):

9/9 9/7
9/9 7/12
5/9 12/7
6/5 8/5
6/5 6/5

with the TSP of 72 vs 78. And guess what? In general, they're the exact same thing time-wise. Which was the whole purpose of this change. To simply balance out stuff.

entropy in action.

It is called power creep in games. And it is very sad, it is like adding new characters into dying TV show. Sign of dysfunction and desperativity, last kicks before sudden death.

I have been playing in these times where average draft was like 35 tsp Star potential

In my opinion BB should avoid at all costs power creep. This is a turn to a wrong direction. We are already seeing negative impacts on the market where 140tsp guards without or with low secondaries at ages 30+ are worth close to nothing. This trend cannot continue without negative impact on whole economy.

30+ 140tsp guards are worth close to nothing because their salaries are too high, only a minority of first division teams can afford their wages, and it's not worthy to spend much on a player whose skills will drop or start dropping soon. so there's not much to do with training or draft skills.

You are not taking into consideration the random factor that is distributing skills to a drafted player.

Not all 19 YO will have "proficient" on skills that are hard to train (and those who have will be somehow "worthless" because their skills that are easy to train will be low), but some of them will yes, that is the whole point of the change.

The top 18 YO drafts so far, are much much better (in the long run) than the best 19 yo drafts and it is somehow unfair or rather worthless to train a 19 yo right now because they miss a whole season of training compared to 18 YO. I get your point but just look at the prices of 18 and 19 yo drafts in the beginning of each season, almost nobody buys 19 yo at a high price with very , very VERY! few exceptions

My point with numbers : I have a 20 yo right now in my utopian team. He got 31 pops in total at his first 2 seasons of training. My trainers were lvl 5 basic trainer and lvl 6 youth trainer .

He got 18 pops in DR HN IS JS from one on one training and 13 pops in PA OD ID JR . 21 of his total pops were in his first season of training and only 10 in his second season of training.

Untill this change, no way you could build the same player with the same skillset if you drafted him @ 19 yo. Even with this change I am quite sure that the best pool of 18 yo players will still be more valuable to train than the best pool of 19 yo

It's very understandable your Anxiety about these announced changes sir... but they actually didn't have told what the formula for the 19 yo TSP improvement... if it really is a maxed 90 TSP that will be randomly distributed to the 10 main skills... and the probability of having that kind of player will still be the same as having an ATG player... Not just like to the other Announcement that Jump Shot and Jump Range become a small part of the Freethrow equation...

the last change in the STA brings some slight difficulties on getting 48 minutes to some players... hope they can also resolve this too soon...

I play the game since season 11 with two breaks. I know a thing or two about training speed but whatever, lets just wait and see what happens. Training simulators are worthless when u dont have the data. In 1-2 seasons from now we will know if the change was for the good or not
