As darkonza above me already proposed, a salary cap. I'm against hard cap though, soft salary cap is better. This means everything above agreed combined salary is subject to double or triple tax.

Exampe: Soft cap is at 1M. Everything above 1M is payed 2x in taxes. If you have 1,2M in payroll, you pay 1,6M each week.

I suggested:
Penalty = (player salaries - (TVcontract x 4) ) x 3
You suggested:
Penalty = (player salaries - 1M) x 2
:)

salary cap dependent on the contract make sense
easy leagues - low TVcontract - low salary cap

Uh sorry, I read your post too fast and didn't understand at first that your salary cap was soft too. Yeah, both makes sense IMO.

That doesn't prevent a manager to spare money for some seasons and to spend all his money on one only season to win the B3, but that will be much more difficult and longer. If a manager is able to make that and has the patience for it, that's ok. But actually it's too easy for some teams, and very difficult for other ones.

What you are suggesting would still make B3 what it is today. Presently we see 2-3 teams going at it with mega rosters (this year: VS, Gadi, Anaheim Electronics). With your proposition we'd have only 1 per season and the problem is still not eliminated.

With 2 x luxury tax, a team with 1.6M roster would have to pay 2.8M each week. 3 x luxury tax is even steeper.This would make each team think very hard about their finances. Your suggestion though just prolongs the time teams need to pile up the money and they can stiil have 1.8M rosters without any repercussions.

With soft salary cap, smart training at highest levels becomes even more important. With your suggestion you can go Gadi's way and invest in primaries a ton of money. Not so often as it happens now, but still.

Well I didn't say your idea was bad either. So let's take both ideas (soft cap + country equalization)...B3 surely wouldn't contain Real Madrids of BB anymore.
