By saying you want reb at atrocious for guards, you´re also saying you want insideplayers to be really heavy on rebounds.

If you have guards with reb at say 7, you pay a lot of salary, but you can get it back on the insideplayers.

Ideally you would like all players to be roleplayers, perfected for the tactic you´re about to use.

For example, say you have a SF that you like a lot. He defends both outside and inside. And he´s perfect for an inside offense, but he is not a very good rebounder.
If you play him alongside two guards with Respectable rebounding, the total amount of rebs on your PG/SG/SF vs your opponents REB on the same positions will in many cases come out in your favor...

If you instead have a Sf with high rebound, you might have a PF or center with lower than normal reb that you can use to get the most out of your tactical choice.

But this might be more important in the future as more and more thought is being put behind training.

As long as your opponents has atrocious Reb as well you won´t see the value of reb on guards, I guess....

whats the consensus on the maximum player salary before teams will not use them/sack them (and therefore lost?)
we seem to mention 200k a lot - is that a reasonable sum for a starting 5 player in a top team in top division in a country? and therefore a pretty sustainable point to take an NT player?

again you assume things that never has been said.

i never said i dont want this for a NT guard player. high rebounding. but as a NT coach you need to find a good middle way that works for the NT and the team that trains the player. I dont think 300k players (or a salary level like this) is sustainable for a club that wants to be competitive.

using daryl austin as an example. My draftee could be like him if he is trained 2 pos with level 6-8 in all guard skills. If we can have players like this or guards with inside shot 9-12 than i would be already a very happy man as a NT.

I appreciate your enthusiasm to join the english community in our conversations, so i can assume you will run for NT coach at the end off season 18??

i think ideally, to be competitive, you are looking at salaries like this for a top team. This is off course an estimate.

PG 100-125k
SG 125-150k
SF 75-100k
PF 125-150k
C 125-150k

I appreciate it that our swedish friend all the time talks about ideal (and thus high salary players), but I dont think this is sustainable for top league teams in a competitive league that the EBBL is.

What i think would be useful is examples of good skillsets that come to 100k, 150k and 200k salaries for each position, bearing in mind that within each position there may be a few variations that would be more suited to certain offenses.

i know there would be a lot of judgement, debate and some degree of guess work to get close to these salary limits but having something/anything would be a great start to build on and a good guide for trainers and nt staff guiding other trainers.

Happy to do this privately (bbmail me) if any of you want to. I value all opinions and ideas - its all good for me and it will be good to help set some standards to work towards :)

when i get back to my computer (generally on a laptop these days) ill try play around with an old salary calculator and some skill mixes myself to see what i can come up with! i dont mind putting stuff out there for opinions :)

coming monday and tuesday I am off and I will play around with the salary calculator and send you my idea off what is a good player.

i wont do this on the forum, because with 1000 coaches you get 1000 opinions and i dont want to be involved in endless discussions with people that are from outside our own community, or get 999 other opinions especially from people that have never played on the highest level and that cant know what is needed to compete at the highest level...

Ditto

I didn´t say anything about 300k players....

I like to read and write English. It´s good training for me. I just learned a new word (quibble) and maybe I´ll learn from someone how to use it correctly. I´m not here to make your life miserable and I really don´t worry too much about that.

I think you said you´re not going to be the running the NT after this season, and that you´ve also said that because of that you don´t want to give any directions on how to train for the national team as the next coach might have another opinion. Therefor I felt this was a thread I could join and practice my english on a subject I´m interested in.

Quibble is a great word! Its when you argue, generally harmlessly, about the smaller things.
Quite a lot of quibbling goes on in our threads :)

cant wait to hear...
