Maybe i'm in the minority, but i actually like stagnation / deflation.

But a question to those in the top divisions -- is it really necessary to almost bankrupt yourself on player salaries? (Is the competition so great that it's necessary to avoid relegation?) Unless you're on the verge of winning a title, why spend so much money?

Of course I'm only in USA Div III, so have no clue what it's like. In my situation, prior to this season my merchandise & tv money *alone* were higher than my total expenses. (Other teams had single players making more than my entire roster combined). Yet I still had decent success even with the lowest team payroll in the league. (even made it to the finals both season 11 & 12) So while that may not be possible in higher divisions, can you still make a decent profit & while say finishing 3rd or 4th place? Or simply not possible?

IDK what your reffrering too cuz im in V.139 and i can't help with what your problem is now.

is forbidden to post players for sale

From the rules...

We do not allow the spamming of other users, either through BB-Mail, Forum posts, or Press Blogs.

Examples of spam include (but are not limited to):

Asking for National Team votes via BB-mail or in the forums (except for in the designated forum thread). If you do this, you will be disqualified from the election

Asking for a scrimmage

Notifying people of players you have for sale

Advertising another product or service on BuzzerBeater

If you spam other users, the GMs may issue a warning, or may temporarily remove your ability to send BB-Mail or post in the Forums. If you continue to spam users during this period or after the functionality is returned to you, your accounts will be permanently banned without warning.

Which part of that forbids me to use a player on the transfer list as an example on the forums?

How is it the same unless stated in the rules? What I did was use a player who was on transfer as an example to show another poster what sort of player you can get for a certain price. If it is forbidden to post someone elses player who is on the transfer list as an example it would say so in the rules...

It might not be exactly worded that way but it's against the rules to post transfer listed players, period.

If we followed your reasoning, the forums would still be full of spam with player sales, it would just be friends posting friends sales instead of their own to get around the exact wording.

It's not really that hard to make your point without posting a current transfer anyway. You could have posted skills and price without the name, team name etc

Maybe the rules should be worded exactly that way to prevent people breaking rules that are not listed...

My reasoning is simple. If it is not listed as illegal in the rules, then it is legal. It is not hard to say "It is prohibited to post any player who is currently on the transfer list on any forum" to make the rule black and white. Friends won't post friends sales instead of their own if the exact wording prevents it... (Note: I have never had any contact of any kind with the player of whom the transfer was listed)

I used the name and team name to rule out any chance that I was just making up a player to prove a point. Obviously if it was stated to be illegal in the rules I would have left them out... But then what prevents another GM deciding that leaving the players name and team out does enough to prevent it to be considered advertising since rules do not have to be worded correctly?

In addition, the following is not permitted in public forum areas of Buzzerbeater:

- Player advertising and valuation requests.

Posting transfer-listed players is "player advertising".

"I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve."

Once again, it should be defined more specifically as my post was clearly using a player as an example in a discussion and it was also quite clear that I had no intentions of "player advertising" as myself or any of my friends had no benefit whether the player was sold or not.

Whether I did advertise the player or not, by the definitiion in the rules I did so legally. If there is a bug within the game it is giving an advantage or disadvantage it is sorted immediately. I dont see why a definition of a rule is so hard clarify before people make innocent breaches of rules that can be defined differently by many different GMs.

I don't think there is a single GM who would allow the posting of any transfer listed player, regardless of which team he is on.

You could continue to bicker about the exact wording of the rules or you could just say sorry and not do it again, since it is quite clear that posting a transfer listed player in the forums shouldn't be and isn't allowed.

The rules quite explicitly say that player advertising is not allowed. A player on the transfer list is for sale, thus any posting of his skills or other information constitutes advertising, intentional or not. If you would like to continue your semantic discussion, please feel free to send me a private message. Thanks.

What do you expect to happen with salary level (inflation/deflation coeficient) for season 16?
I'm little bit worry about salaries and expect big influence against drop due to 2 reasons which increase the amount of money in global B3 economic:
- new rule about not paying salaries during playoff (1/4 of all teams will save 2 weeks salaries and 3/8 to 5/8 of all teams will save 1 week salaries, depending how many relegation series go into tie-break)
- increasing user base, at the moment about 40% more user than at the last season update
It could lead even to raise of salaries (but I hope just slight).
