RiP, just a suggestion. Maybe you and The Mogul can put up what skills and potential each player needs to have a chance to make the U21 and NT. Then make it a sticky so that it is always easy to find and then maybe there won't be people always randomly asking if their bad players are good enough.

Yeah that makes sense. I worded what i said wrong though. I didn't mean skills I should have said salary. I know the salary and potential limits have been posted many times, but they get lost and new players may not be able to find them. Of course, this has flaws as well because players with low starting salaries could still become good players, and it would be a shame for someone to not train a player just because he doesn't make the original requirements, but it could be useful to post salary and potential guidelines in a sticky just as a measuring stick.

I think that the broad guidelines at the begining of this thread are probably adaquate, as is just looking at the DMI/salaries of current players. If you aren't, or predict to be in the near future, within 20%ish of the current players at that position then you might as well not bother asking unless the play has some sort of crazy skill set.

I think that there are times when new new managers get super excited about their players and want to show them off or are under estimating just how good U21 players are.... I also think there are times where we're also just getting collectively trolled.

I have deleted my initial post since some people have taken it as a guide to what is expected of a U21 player. Recently at least one manager sent me a BB-mail thinking that I still have some say in which players get selected.

By the way, I personally think that the recent approach by The Mogul and RIP is the correct one. I was somewhat naive when I created this thread.

Hey I already posted about my player in the Canada Forum, and it seems he has been "saved". Although the merchandise will turn out to be nice, there is no reason for him to be taking up a roster spot, as I plan to train him fully (hopefully one day garnering a U21 spot).

Right so, with that mishap in mind, what are the chances of him making the U21 at this rate? He's had his first week for training, and he had 3 pops! which is hilarious to me, considering its 2 position 1v1 training :P

Owner: Smooth Operators

Weekly salary: $ 2 933

DMI: 6800
Age: 18
Height: 6'2" / 188 cm
Potential: superstar
Game Shape: respectable

Jump Shot: average ↑ Jump Range: average

Inside Shot: atrocious Inside Def.: awful

Also, if you have the time, check out http://www.buzzerbeater.com/player/14642573/overview.aspx mick O'donnel. Theres no way I can make room for big man training so I would really, really like to move him. I don't know what to price him as, but I really could use a good profit margin. How much do you think he's worth?

thanks, WezzyP

After those early pops, his estimated salary jumps up to $3555 on my calculator. He's going to be underpaid all season. :P

I think Stanley's chances at U21 are as good as anyone drafted this season (or close enough, considering how much development time lies ahead). Superstar potential is plenty of room to work with, and his guard skills are very well balanced and he should train up smoothly (especially considering his excellent height for a guard trainee).
