I agree. The definition of inside shot may need to be clarified for this, though I assume it pertains to anything inside the 3pt arc.

I'll be studying my game tonight to see who fouls and on what type of shot.

I am not sure about that. The match commentary is sometimes helpful (at least the English version): when it says "goes strongly for an inside shot" or "pulls up for a jumper". However, from what I remember, both of these can happen otuside the paint but within the three-point circle.

My hunch is that 'inside shot' must be anything within the paint. I haven't seen much evidence of my centers with crappy JS hitting shots inside the three-point line. But then again, I have no factual evidence for that. Maybe I should pay specific attention for this my next league match.

I thought I'd heard someone in a position of authority assert that the skill Inside Shot referred to all shots taken from inside the 3pt arc. I can't find the exact quote right now so I can't say who said it or what was said. I'm doubting, however, that the comment was in reference to inside defense.

At any rate, I'll be watching carefully during my game tonight (starts in 7 minutes) and will go through my match archive when I get some more free time to spend on this subject.

In this case, I would think is that the game should use some sort of combinations of jump shot + inside shot and jump shot + outside shot to determine outcome. But then again, that's just an educated guess, so don't put too much into it ;)

A lot of things contribute to fouls - bad shot blocking, bad defensive stats, low stamina and game shape, etc.

And you should expect 15-20 fouls per game.

Well, after watching my game, the results leave much to be considered. What I failed to consider were fouls when there is no shooting situation reported, and therefore no information as to just where on the court the foul happened.

From my game:
Fouls in the paint: 2
Fouls from the elbow: 2
Fouls from 3pt range: 1
Offensive fouls: 3
Fouls w/o a reported shooting situation: 11

Now, some of the last category are strategic 4th quarter fouls, but the overwhelming majority of fouls were non-shooting, and therefore I only got 5 fouling situations from which to draw any data. I'll look over my other games after I get back from holiday next week, but I'm not too optimistic about the data being very conclusive.

The more we learn, the less we know...

Look at my last game 27 fouls from me against his 6........ Lucky I won or I would've went crazy.

Your team fouls because they get caught cheating. I'm waiting for BB to institute drug testing so last season's finals result can be reversed. =)

Whoever said you should expect 15-20 fouls hasn't seen my teams average of about 25pg! 45 in one game!
