Germany > Italy ... I agree.

Dirk is the best player of Europe, and Germany isn't a good team. Germany is a ISOLATION for Dirk!

dirk get every fourth till fifth shot, and this year we don't play the give the ball to dirk and wait offense anymore, we played often when he was at our roster in the past.

The ölast euro wasn't bad, with many close lost games with a very young and talented squad, they still don't have a big name but they had improved over the last two years. And somehow Bauermann, get the best out of them during the tournaments.

Kaman make 17 Points and 17 Rebounds yesterday, and 18 Points and 10 Rebounds against israel and he brings more at the defensiv end.

Against Cusin and Bargnani, a notoriously terrible rebounder and bad defender. Let's see how he rebounds against the likes of Joakim Noah.
But Kaman is definitely one of the top 4 centers in the tourney, it's just he can't carry a team defensively a la Tyson Chandler, let alone offensively. He needs good spacing and ball movement to be effective.
Dirk on the other hand can carry Germany on his own shoulders, offensively anyway.

ok but Bargnani is maybe offensiv one of the most talented and he sstruggled against Kaman(and Nowe) there, and he didn't run things and 17 Rebounds are very good independ from the competion in my eyes(we ain't in the NBA with 48 minutes, and faster possesions).

At the moment and also the last preparation games, he was more important for the german team in my eyes on a very high level so that Dirk shouldn't be offended by it.
But the performance of those two are crucial for the german game.

Also strange why Dirk and Kaman played so little, but the French imposed a fast tempo and the backup bigmen for Germany were making shots in the 3rd Q so that's probably why they stayed on the bench so long.

Stats Don't Lie: Poland shot 10 of 22 (45%) from behind the arc while Turkey finished four of 17 (24%). Turkey outrebounded Poland 31-21. Poland stunned Turkey 84-83 with their best performance so far at the EuroBasket to remain firmly in the hunt for a place in the next phase of the competition.

In Polish press release we can read that referees have helped Turkish players especially Turkoglu :)

i didn't watch the game, but basketball always have many decision who can go either way and when you watch a game as a fan you tend to make the line for your team so that close calls you didn't get are obvious mistakes like close calls the opponent gets.
it is not rare when you talk after the game with the fans of the opposing team, that both side have the felling the referee cheated with them - i also recognized this in the maybe biggest german basketball board. But when you read there the critics after televised games, who got rated by neutral fans normally the referees where rated much higher or at least with mistakes in both direction.

Could be the same effect here.

PS: And i am also like that, i always think the referees play against the team i am cheering :)

Edit: even when i really dislike when officials of clubs or NT bring it to the public that they feel the other team get advantage from the referees. This also count for the german officials, who also did this during this tournament.

...France,...are at least team for me, who have strong team on paper who didn't work that good(France is maybe too athletik, to less finesse for FIBA..

Well I think France made a decent first round so far with 5 wins. In the past years they were plagued with injuries or abscence of key players. Turiaf is missing, but this year they showed more than athletic skills. It was quite an impressive game versus Serbia yesterday.

Yet the competition is still long and they are plenty of good teams still in contention. France schedule with Turkey, Spain and Lithuania is almost insane. Actually the whole Group E is really hard.

yes i heard it should be a pretty good sadly i didn't seen it.

They also seem to have a consistent shooting touch till now, one thing they missed often in the past. But i am still thinking that france would be stronger with NBA rules, compared to the opposition8and is the ebst team of the 3 mentioned ones)
