Well as you know, this happens in real life too (the team bankrupts or cannot pay his players) and players go to another team. Why should it be different here? I know you want to prevent illegal farms who go bot and then the manager who cheated can buy that player from FA, avoiding direct transfer of money to the farm. But you punish "normal" teams with that also...I think 2 seasons of NT hiatus in case the player hits FA should be enough, don't you think?

Well, let's say I suddenly stop logging in and the team goes bot after 6 weeks of inactivity. All my NT players would disappear? I think this is not fair to my NT and to the players. I don't want to treat the players as normal persons (they are bytes, afterall) but they should be able to change the team if their original team goes bot or bankrupts as in real life.

And to prevent cheating, a player who hits FA shouldn't be eligible for NT for next two seasons.

Of course I understand there are many way to render a NT player worthless to his NT. I'm just asking why the botification would be one of them. The easiest route however would be to cancel FAs altogether, but that would make BB a trading game again.

I understand your concern. Manager leaves, but his players remain and they enlarge the player pool available to managers. I thought this rule could be done to save only those players that were in NT at the time of botification. It's true thought that if a player "disappears" due to minute mismanagement or lack of training, the same can be applied to bottified players.

I am not a fan of terminating a player when a team quits. You might start to see farm teams that save money to buy an NT player and then just quit the game.
