the whole thing needs reseting. if you read the first 20 posts or so i was the first to notice the points issue could be abused and posted that the draft needed to go offline till fixed or people will get an unfair advantage , or use there points because they think they had more.

either way the current season scouting system is highly tainted as if someone gets a good pick people will think did he get that player because he found him during the point bug and then drafted him or did he really scout him properly.

for me the issues happened at 4am aussie time so im confident the majority of my league would have been asleep.

I agree that this is the likely result and makes the most sense. But the scope of the error is larger than you give credit for. It's all those people who didn't overspend but chose to pick the 10 point options that cannot undo that choice. When you see that you have 50 scouting points, it seems inexpensive to choose those options, but when you see that you have 20 scouting points, then maybe you choose the size and height, but not likely also the 1 and 2 ball stars. Since this was deployed so late, it will be hard to accumulate scouting points to properly scout the list. I think that is why some people are also upset that they don't get the opportunity to scout knowing with certainty how many points they have and will need to scout their top players.

I hear what you are saying, but I think when it really comes down to it, there is no way to effectively scout unless do the combine and the group event. There are only two possible reasons a person would want to go back and undo that choice...1, and its unlikely, that a person in their initial combine found a prospect or two they wanted to focus their efforts on, and go all in for that guy or two. Or the second, is that they didnt like what they saw, and with hindsight now are deciding a different strategy would be better. Again, that would be based on info they never should have had in the first place. Again, I really think that 99% of people who choose to invest in scouting would pay the 10 points each for those two items. Anytihng else is really drafting blindly. Again, hear you, and I understand the frustration, but at this point there is no decision that is going to make everyone happy. With that in mind, and the fact that so much of the world was asleep or at work when this happened, I am think it makes the most sense to move on and move forward. Just my opinion.

Yeah, I agree. After a moments thought it is good the way it is, and the way it was solved. The ones that plunged head over heals and spent everything before checking should consider themselves lucky with the reset. I don't think we will see a major impact on the draft either because of those brief overspent points. A total reset would have been worse. A small adjustment, a minor error, but all in all the most effective implementation of a new feature I have seen. I am more annoyed that my countrys U21 game was scheduled so early in the day that I missed the lineup and thus have no chance at a reelection... 12 PM, pffft...

My next wish is an optional timeline preference for 24 hours a day. I'll never get used to the AM-PM stuff... especially 12AM and 12PM.

The random factor from base assesment from the scouts and actual star rating strikes me as having a surprisingly big margin on a few of the players in my draft pool. One of the 1 and 2 star players that did a group demonstration had a 5 star rating and A+ grade rating. To bad he is 19, or I would have put him in the upper half of my draft ranking. Maybe I will either way. My numbers from U21 shows a higher point total average for freshly drafted 19 year olds than 18 year olds, and only a few of the best trained players with one position and a 5 or more level coach had made that year of training better than the average difference. Makes you wonder if it is actually worth to draft a good 19 year old...

GMSvett> excellent post...I had been wondering that sort of thing for a long time considering the lack of decently rounded 18 year olds on the waiver.

Question:

Does everyone in the league see the same games? IE if you send a scout to scout the game, will other people get the same results?

Second is the natural draft order the same for all teams? Or do scouts kinda randomly guess, and therefore you have no idea how other teams will pick?

My first season...and I only got 15 balls now. Planning to buy 15 more.

Bought 10 to scout the "bad" players. Got 9 5 star results! (Leaving 20 left)

So---here's the kicker...scout indiviually the 9 guys, or buy the 10 points to scout age/scout 5?

Here's my take.

I thought both Group Demo and the Combine were good ideas, but that was when I thought I had a bunch of points. Now I've spent 10 points to find out how tall they were, when I could have gotten that out of the interviews.

Do the Group demo, and spend the rest of your points on individual scouts and interviews. I don't believe the Combine adds any value. I just wasted those 10 points.

I spent $40k a week every week, and I don't have enough points to do a good job. If you did less than that, you really don't want to do the Combine.

Great system. Thanks for all the hard work. Not only in the months of development, but through the day as well. Pat yourselves on the back...you deserve it.

I had the luxury of reading today's events long after they were done. Most of those guys who are now complaining, were the ones who realized the bug and admitted to trying to "cash-in" on it. So, don't sweat it. They'll learn now....
