1st time conference finalist NEWBak Ku Teh Kings goes up against the "do or die" SaungHninPwint(SHP). Both has taken a game from each other in the regular league, who will emerge victorious this time round?

Regular Season Game 1: NEWBak Ku Teh Kings 108 - SaungHninPwint 72
Regular Season Game 2: NEWBak Ku Teh Kings 72 - SaungHninPwint 111
Season 19 1st Round PlayOff: NEWBak Ku Teh Kings 90- SaungHninPwint 118

NEWBak Ku Teh Kings

Bernie Carr: 25.2mpg, 15.1ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.9orpg
against SHP: 26.0mpg, 21.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 3.0orpg

The NEWBak Ku Teh Kings has finally defeated their tough rival, Final Fantasy XIII, lead by Vitomil Wolf's 24pts and 9 assists. However they face SHP next and that matchup seems to be Wolf's kryptonite. In the last 5 games against SHP, Wolf has been shooting a horrid 14.6%, averaging only 2.8pts and 4.0assists, courtesy of the tight perimeter defence mainly by Liad Saglovic. Either Wolf finds a way to shake off the defence or keep setting up King's best player against SHP, the Englishman Bernie Carr. Carr had a monster 33pt game in a losing effort against SHP in the season and also averages 10.5rebs against them. Look for the Kings to pass the ball more to Carr. The NEWBak Ku Teh Kings would need to focus slowing down Liad Saglovic. Saglovic has been carving up the King's defence averaging 21.6pts, 4.8assists and 5.6rebs against them. With Barro still a question mark for sat's game the Kings will assume that whatever it is Saglovic will be the main man to stop (and maybe double team) first. Singapore's U21 Dong Tian Kwang will be tested against monster C Racimir Opoka who not only can attack with great post moves but also has very good post defense. Kings also cannot forget scoring machine Mo Xiaochong who poured in 20pts against Sugar Ray. The good news is NEWBak Ku Teh Kings got scoring sensation Sapian back in the nick of time for this tough matchup against one of the best teams in div II.1

SaungHninPwint

Liad Saglovic: 35.3mpg, 24.7ppg, 5.1rpg, 5.8apg
against NEWBak Ku Teh Kings: 34.9mpg, 21.6ppg, 5.6rpg, 4.8apg

SHP is once against back in the conference finals and this time it's against NEWBak Ku Teh Kings. It is still uncertain whether Xose Barro will make an appearance for the game but we will assume he won't be. The ball will be in the hands of Saglovic more than before and he has to shake off the previous game slump (13pts, 5-19 shooting) so he can stretch the King's defence paper thin when they are forced to double him to prevent his drives.  The Kings has a balanced roster in which anyone can be a scoring threat. It's hard to predict who might have a strong game, though Bernie Carr does have reasonable success in games against SHP. So, SHP can start by shutting down the King's playmaker, Vitomil Wolf. Getting Wolf to commit TOs and trapping him means less chance of an alley oop to Dong Tian Kwang or an open baseline jumper by shooter Pang Mingyou. SHP also has to watch out for explosive scorer Sapian who just recovered and is expected to play. To cripple King's interior defense, SHP can attempt to get Dong Tian Kwang in foul trouble as none of the reserve Cs can stop Racimir Opoka's superior post move. DTK is also not exactly careful with the ball(3.0 TOpg) and should be a prime target to steal the ball when he passes. NEWBak Ku Teh Kings are also not a good offensive rebounding team so making them miss and controlling their own defensive rebounds will being SHP at an even further advantage compared to the Kings. SHP has a good chance to advance but unlike the last game it will not be a walk in the park.

Flyer Sonic and it's twin towers will be going up against Hoop Magical who manage to inch out against Chai Chee during the 1st round of the playoffs.

Hoop Magical 73-Flyer Sonic 109
Hoop Magical 74- Flyer Sonic 102

Flyer Sonic

Li An Wen 23.2mpg, 13.5ppg, 9.0rpg, 1.5Blkpg
Against Hoop Magical: 38.3mpg, 24.7ppg, 14.7rpg, 2.0Blkpg

Any Flyer Sonic fan would probably be pumped for the next match against Hoop magical. "Mr Perfect" Li An Wen(LAW) hits a div II.1 playoff record 10-10 FG against Bobbleheads and Władysław Smaruj showed Singapore what he can do in an all around performance of 16pts, 5rebs, 8assists on 7-12 shooting with only 1 TO. While it is too good to be true if LAW hits a perfect 10-10 again, he did outsmart Hoop Magical defence (24.7ppg, +11.2 compared to average) and outbang most other Hoop Magical bigmen (+6.1 against William Misa, +8.8 against Auturo Palma) so he will definitely be counted on to carry the team offensively. Both Władysław Smaruj, Marcell Dobrovits and at a smaller extent Ricaredo Potol will be finding any small cracks in Hoop Magical's stringy defence and set up LAW or Peh Jian Long (PJL). PJL has been pretty quiet offensively and it might catch Hoop Magical off-guard if Sonic gets him going early since Hoop Magical will almost most certainly send their best post defender against LAW. Sonic offensive players should keep their cool against Hoop Magical's tough defence and not force up needless shots. If the game comes down to the last shot whoever's guarding Bover (likely Potol) better glues himself to Bover to prevent him from breaking Sonic fan's hearts just like he did to Chai Chee's.

Hoop Magical

Maties Bover: 33.7mpg, 24.9ppg, 2.6apg, 47% FG%
Against Flyer Sonic: 35.1mpg, 23.9ppg, 2.5apg, 42.1%

Hoop Magical squeaked by in a closer than expected game against Chai Chee. Maties Bover was the hero of the match hitting a go ahead 3 when Hoop Magical needs it the most (he was 2-7 prior to the shot in 3pt FG) and carrying his team to victory. Bover's outstanding play must appear again against one of the top teams in II.1, Flyer Sonic. Ricaredo Potol might be afraid to shoot compared to Bover but he's no slouch in defence. Pick and Roll offense could be useful to keep Potol away from Bover for a second and take advantage of going up against a slower Sonic bigman. Hoop Magical should not go on a shootout against an offensively more capable Sonic because only Bover has that scorer's mentality. simply put, Sonic will outgun Hoop Magical in a fast game. Hoop Magical should try their best to slow the game down and get back on defence in an instant to disrupt any rhythm for Flyer Sonic offensive player. Instead of always isolating Bover, if Hoop Magical can get the big men offensively involved, LAW will be forced to play more defence, wearing him out making him possibly less effective on the offensive end. Hoop Magical has a tough task ahead of them. Maybe they can just stay within shooting distance throughout the game and let Maties Bover bail them out with "That Shot" one more time.
