I thought some stuff would be obvious but it clearly isn't.

A) Potential does not warrant that a player will achieve greatness. Most players picked up to mid lottery in the NBA have the potential to be all stars in their career. That's 8 players out of 60...which equals 6 players out of 48. Some of them don't even become reliable starters, some do become all stars. So why can't we have 6 players with 5 ball potential in any draft? Some players have rubbish starting skills and will never achieve their high potential, just like in the real world, either due to bad coaching or due to never figuring things out
B) Bench warmers and announcers etc do not exist in any top league in the world. They just don't. I'd say at least 95% of these players in BB are fired in the first week. These add absolutely nothing to the game.
C) Lower potential players actually have higher starting skills in the real world. They have lower ceiling but are able to contribute right away. A player with low ceiling AND bad skills does not make the cut, because he never gets selected in a draft

I understand this is not the suggestion forum but I will float something out there anyway. Double the number of prospects and halve the cost of the individual scouting actions. Then, as knecht suggested, the draft becomes a 2 rounds affair instead of 3. A restricted number of players (the equivalent of the third round maybe) who are not selected by human managers goes to free agency. This guarantees better average quality from the draft, 48 players still come out of it and it would have a very beneficial impact also on micronations' NTs (because of the FA thing)

If everyone has a better draft, how will draftees will sold for more ?
Marin main policy = incentivise training.

How exactly does having more expensive draftees fit in the narrative that BB wants training to be valued and a financially sound option? Shouldn't you be advocating cheaper draftees so that everyone can have a go at shaping his team the way he sees fit?

Maybe you think the problem is that scouting would become too expensive for the actual benefits it generates. In other words if draftees are too cheap nobody would spend money on scouting and everyone would keep the money and wait to buy the players they want after the draft. There is an easy solution for that though: make scouting points cheaper or grant more for the same amount...

My take on the draft pool has always been that we should see more star, allstar and p.allstar players in it then anything else. And star/allstar being the majority. That way you can at least make something out of the players. Imo the lowest potentials should be just as rare as the highest once.

Yes, I too would applaud a more fruitful draft.

I don't ask a lot, right? The result... 0 (only one during the last 7 days, maybe last 14 days).

Age <= 31 kills your search. Maybe the high OD requirements too.

FA rules need to loosen up a bit.

I know but from 33 the players get a lot of drops. So of course a lot of managers sell at 32. When I say a lot I mean... 3 results! Youhouh

Maybe the high OD requirements too.

17-18 is the standard in D.I from a lot of countries. We come back to the origins of this discussion: less and less teams + same (bad) draft = less and less correct/good players on the TL => not funny for everybody.

Well it is what it is, right now we all get abused by the market. I have more money than ever and still contemplating to fold and demote again. Still better than treadmilling in DivI.

Me and Ryan agreed that the logical consequence of the design changes (less FA combined with user loss) would have been a drop in average skill level of players across all league levels except the bottom leagues. I did tell him people would get fed up with having a decreasing quality of players and would complain or quit. People have been complaining for ages now that the same skillset costs more and more.

Now we reached the point where the average skill decrease is actually very noticeable just by looking at average game ratings. B3 final BB stats have decreased season after season in the last 3 seasons (3 seasons ago Darkonza threw the game so we can use the semis instead of the finall).
