I didn't CT Ice earlier in the season but I did take a crack at him and got a little lucky, if I manage to stay up it was one of the most important wins of my season.

Salary wise teams are becoming much more close than they have been in the past, where once upon a time you probably were better off just taking it easy I don't think that the top 3 or 4 teams are as indestructible as they were in the past.

I don't think a damn the torpedoes full CT ahead approach will let you stay up, and staying in the NBBA is a definite cash improvement for any team. I am not sure that anyone needs to feel the need to back down from anyone else though, and if you are doing it outside of a regular away game and I have a tough cup game (for those of us lucky enough to not suck at cup games) I think you are probably cheating yourself out of a chance to pull off a very cool win.

I do think that Waggy has posted the most impressive middle finger sign on his front porch I have ever seen in Buzzerbeater though. Its made for some interesting forum reading.

Indeed - Ice Storm, KDB, Chicago Bulls don’t receive the 2/3 playoff arena money. Those teams are bought back to the pack.

Again, I don't see how I'm getting lumped into this. I've played a grand total of 2 playoff games in the last 3 seasons. In that time period, the Giants have played 4 D.II playoff games, 2 NBBA relegation playoff games, and recieved $1,000,000 in promotion money. Who do you think came ahead financially in that matchup?

Secondly, as I said earlier, I'm consistently slightly-above average in salary but way below the league leaders.

I don’t think it is a good idea for stogey to blindly continue his MTIE agreement with yourself, however as you are friends outside of BB I don’t see this changing.

Ask Brian if I do this. We don't always TIE each other. If anything, our communication outside of BB lends to more head games for our matches.

And Brian's team was essentially built to beat mine, something he's been very good at. If I don't agree to a TIE, he just Normals. There hasn't been one game yet that he's been tempted to try to beat me TIE vs. Normal. We've been rivals every season.

If everyone CTs Ice Storm, than one of you gets the top seed. If everyone CTs KDB and I, then Heathens gets the top seed.

I want to make sure everyone knows that I think Heathens is actually favored to finish above me this season anyway, the above statement is just my prediction what would happen if waggyrob's plan was enacted and worked.

I would think it a better idea for the big 8 to aim for KDB / Bulls as the big 8 team receives more direct benefit from the CT

I heartily endorse this event or product.

Financial information is my speciality, however I don't intend to bore the rest of the forum with numbers.

I will ignore the failure of your post to mention your access to BBB money during this same time & instead, highly recommend you relegate to II next season & test the validity of your claim. You will find it is not the rosy scenario you portray.

Sounds to me like Brian knows you a little too well.

I'll let you know how that goes.

Doesn't have to be said but this is a fine idea and all in theory but it would never work in practice. I'd bet half the teams wouldn't go through with it (I know I wouldn't). I'd enjoy watching most teams destroy their enthusiasm in the name of maybe winning 1 game while I keep mine high and beat most of them. Or maybe I missed your point, which is highly likely.

"Wholly NBBA chat room Batman"

I think your all crazy and self serving! It's outrageous that a debate that has gone on since I can remember is back for yet another season. Last season it was LMA saying it's unfair no one goes after ICE (unfair PD). Then there was the DFC page post where it's sad that now "everyone" is MTIEing. It's safe to say we all know where DFC's non-TIE stance got them while the other teams in the collective are still in the NBBA. Where as a certain team from Chicago (take your pick and there really is no offense meant by this) benefitted from a number of elements that included some MTIE's.

The worst part about the whole thing is coming back after you MTIE your season and talk smack to other teams who didn't claiming it's a strategy and this game is all about that. There is a reason I don't watch survivor and it plays itself out here! Can we draw up sides for Heros and Villans?

So lets ask ourselves, do we really want parity? Will teams quit if we achieve that?

Who cares if Waggy CT'd ice? I really don't and good moral victory for him. If his next 3 or 4 opponents agree to MTIE with him, did he really lose ground? So who cares if he takes a stand? He won't be the first and he is just outlining what we already know, feel and question. We already know the system is flawed and people are going to use the system. I am going to use the system. Why? Because I benefit just as much as they do.

The real question I have (and we will find out at the end of the season/s) is will it matter? Six games are done, teams have already built up and enthusiasm advantage by MTIEing. Once more, it's not like it's going to stop teams from doing it.
