Can't you only clarify you didn't mean that the BBs were knowingly misleading or lying ? That would be nice :)

They are definitely not lying, but misleading if they want to convince us that 4th place is always the preferrable option compared to 5th.

I think there are plenty of situations where tanking for fifth is financially more successful than fighting for fourth.

It's maybe a better option in some cases for teams with very high wages, it also depends on how many games you have to tank.

Since we don't have actual numbers or precise knowledge of how attendance and merchandising are calculated, I don't know how someone can challenge what was stated by the BBs even though I find it dubious too.

The problem is related only to the top divisions of the top countries where there is no way to earn the same money if you finish in 4th position, neither in 3td position in the 99% of the matches. That's it, no discussions about it, check the salary and the revenue of this first match and compare the numbers.

ctually, the BBs say that finishing 4th gives more money even if not imediatly, so the 5th place is a fake advantage or a aparent one. So the game itself does not incourage anyone to be 5th, it's more of a users common knowledge that may be wrong.

I have my doubts as well but for us it's impossible to claim one or another cause we don't see clearly both effects, just the BBs can run the simulations, or not who knows.

Anyway, it's a lot better than it was and if people have a problem with that maybe they need to give some other alternatives.

You can't group all teams together...For example...Team A has a 250K roster, finishing in 4th would be great...Now my friends team in Team B...900K salaries and he finishes in 4th and loses to Sharman in the JBBL playoffs...so he makes 33% of 600K which is 200K but still has to pay 700K...so finishing in 5th would have been better for him...so sometimes finishing in 5th would be better than 4th..

Now if your friend actually won his game at the end of the season (instead of tanking with 3 players) he would have finished 3rd... beaten you then lost to me and in the process made 400k!

So in this case it's his own fault!!

So you could have gotten a BOT in the 1st round...not on our watch...See you are hated here in the JBBL....so expect a CT on Saturday and then you will be easy work for Stunners to come in and clean you up in the finals.
And BTW...this thread is about the difference between finishing in 4th and 5th...let's stick to the topic!!

No...not 5th...I am going to hover around 4th and 5th for the 1st part of the season until I save up my 4.5 million to buy an elite SF(already got one lined up) and then right after the cup I will get serious and finish in 4th....And then swoosh and I will reverse rolls..CT from me in the 1st round and a CT from him in the second. Was your brain working when you wrote this? He has 900K in salaries...He beats you he goes to the finals, he loses he gets two weeks for free without paying salaries. It's a win win....Are you crying because we didn't let you get the bot in the 1st round? That is plain sad...You are a previous BB3 champion, why would anybody be trying to make the game easier for you..And your math is off..He made 200K last night, if he had finished in 3rd and beat me he would have made only 200K more than what he made last night( 200K from me and then 200K from you)..so yes the total would have been 400K but only 200K more than he had made finishing in 4th....and now next week his salaries are free, if he would have finished in 3rd and won he would be paying 900K and only making 200K for a Saturday game, and that would have been -700K...see...What Swoosh did was very smart, but you have your, "I'm Sharman, do what I say" blinders on..only thinking about whats best for you...You are a joke and not a funny one either..

hahahaha...........only 1 guy constantly scratching his head about how he can't get a BB3 ticket...... but I admire your new approach.... you've resigned yourself to not beating me with 1 roster... and are now trying with 2..... if you are quick you can get more friends into the JBBL then surely you'd be within touching distance of a winners trophy!!

It's not about one are two teams trying to beat you...Swoosh lost that game on his own..He hates you , I hate you most people in the JBBL that have been around for 5 or 6 seasons hate you. So keep on crying about how you didn't get you way. And how teams aren't playing like you want them to. So let's get back on topic...

Teams with over or at about 500K in salaries, 5th is probably better if they have no shot at winning the 1st round game.
Teams under 400K in salaries and playing in a big arena(20,000K or more) 600K at 33& is only 200K..4th is probably better due to the experience gains and merchandising bonus if there is one...That is what I think.
