I think as a precaution, the BBs ended up 4erring on the side of caution when deciding how accurate to make the lists, and rewarding those that put in a lot of money waiting for the new system. if I were to guess, I'd predict future drafts will have slightly more accurate first impressions.

well, if i knew that each team has different list, i would scout top players. i scouted 1 and 2 star players because i will have one of last picks.

I suspect that information on the lists are all slightly different.
However, the players on the list are the same for everyone in the league. (i.e. the only thing that changes is that different people have different information about the same players)

I dont think I understood what you wrote. Do you mean that when i have a 5 star and 2 star potential player, when different team from my league scouts the same player he will get different info? or do you just mean that position on list (number) is swaped?

Yeah, just the number will be different, and the original rankings before scouting. So, if he was originally showing as 2 balls before you scouted him, he could have originally been showing as 5 balls before scouting for someone else in your league. However, once he is scouted, he will be the same in skill and potential for both of you.

We don't know this for sure. It's completely possible that even after scouting a player you end up with slightly incorrect information. (I suspect that if a player is interviewed the information is correct, but we don't know 100% yet if scouting once gets you totally accurate information. We do know that "word on the street" information is often quite wrong)

What I am saying is that every league has the exact same pool of players to draft from but that the information each manager receives about that set pool of players varies considerably and each of us received different initial rankings.

Well when we interview a player that is already scouted, his skill doesn't change (at least in my experiences). So, doesn't that mean that if it is accurate after the interview, it is also accurate after just scouting once?

that seems to be true for all the ones i've interviewed so far (11 players)

interview does not change the star rating, it only reveals the potential
scout reveals the star rating only, which can be considerably different than word on the street

Everyone,

Thanks for your comments! I'm really glad that most people seem to be enjoying the new system. It took quite a bit of work, and I'm happy to see it's paying off!

I have no idea if our "word on the street" ratings will be the same or not.

The word on the street ratings are not the same. However, as the predictions are not entirely inaccurate, there will, of course, be some correlation.
