Points in the paint could be a beneficial statistic to learning about your team and how strategies work, while Role is completely
meaningless.
I can't for the life of my understand why someone would be against Points in the Paint statistic that could actually have some beneficial worth while we have some crap 'Role' addition that provides no worth.

Just for your benefit, i used to think that points in paint would be good stat for buzzerbeater, but i learnt a few things earlier this year that proved this to be wrong.
As I mentioned before though, this a game, has a game engine, and they are tied in with the activities seen on the game commentary when we watch a game live. You can make lots of valuable connections between your offensive flow, your PG's passing ability and how well he executes the offense your set, based on this in-game action commentary.

Let me give you an example. My team, I set Low Post as my offense. Using the stats I get out of the game analyzer, I was able to determine that my PG was dishing off to my SF and he was taking lots of mid-range jumpers, unguarded, but missing. It also showed me that my PG took a lot of driving lay-ups, but was missing lots of them.
So I was able to make conclusions about these. Buy a PG with better IS, buy a SF with better JS.

Im not sure if any concrete conclusions can be made about the 'Inside paint' shot statistic, which can be directly related back to a players/teams stats/offense/flow etc. etc. It might show that, when you played Look Inside, you took more inside paint shots, as opposed to Motion offense.... but we know all this already.
Points in paint isn't going to tell you that, your Centre is shooting atrociously from inside, or that your SG drops 3's all day, because his driving skill isnt up to scratch.
So IMO, Points in the paint WOULD be a meaningless statistic. Whilst a good idea for normal basetball, this isnt normal basketball, and the value of this stat isnt worth the time it would take to develop it. IMO.

AND world peace is over-rated unless its being pushed for by Miss Universe contestants.
