I still don't get how LI is outside oriented... Do you have evidence? I understand that it can be more outside oriented that LP but most of the shots are still taken inside.

LP- pf, c, and sf, trys to actually post up, and play back to basket in the paint area. but sg and pg seems to be shoting more far away from basket, than in LI, or driving to the baskets. It looks something close as princeton but the first score option is score inside.

In LI they really play more outside oriented tactics, if you count that your inside players actually play faceup instead of back to basket. For very succesfull LI you need faceup pf and sf. with high driving and is also with some of jump shot and jump range, since they use to take more mid range shots if they cant drive. Passing at bigs pays bigger role than in LP, since wen your pf streches the defence at the top of the arc at mid range shooting zoe, your guards trends to drive to the baskets, so high passing of pf makes huge impact.

I love what you're writing but do you have any empirical evidence?

well, i have a feeling, watching my games, nothing more actually. I play since seazon 12 with 2nd team now, always was running inside tactics.

I would love to have some evidence...

So you reckon if I had bad driving, but good passing on my guards and the passing wasn't great on my bigs, I should play LP instead.

Yep, i think so. i think to run LI you need passing 100% of oponents guard defence on your pg/sg and driving somewhat 65% of their OD. Otheriwse offense seems to freeze. Also, personally i think, the most important positions while running LI are PG and PF, they do the most job. While in LP somewhat inside oriented sf may be a trouble sometimes and mostly the center.

I think driving affects the "outside part" of inside offenses:

LI: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/39663757/boxscore.aspx
LP: http://www.buzzerbeater.com/match/39663741/boxscore.aspx

In both cases my PG is the one taking more shots and is followed by my SF. These are my best drivers. On the other hand, my SG does not fire as much; his driving is also at a lower level.

So, low driving and high passing would be the key to get as many shots as possible on your PF/C?

Do you have any more? ;)
