Well all I can think of is feeding the ball to the best player like feeding it to Wilt. By the way, I love patient. It's the only way for me to win games.

I like Patient, but that's really weird! I've played Patient only in one game, that too a PL game, but it has an exploiting OD mismatches aura that attracts me!

It's common knowledge that the teams and players in higher divisions will be better.. Secondly my Guards have decent OD. The only reason it's low as a team is because my three other starters low OD trumps theres.

*sigh* do you understand now? His 9k wasn't playing like a 50k SG, he was playing like a 9k SG, who is just naturally better then your teams defense.

The team outside defense rating is based heavily on the PG and SG and only medium on the SF and slightly the PF. Therefore, the rating you see is based on your "decent OD" guards primarily.

An outside focused $9k SG probably has Strong-Prominent JS/JR. With an awful team OD rating, I would suspect that is higher than your guards OD. This is why patient worked so well for him. His SG could beat your guards any way he wanted all day. In DivIV, the absolute minimum OD you generally see is proficient for guards. Doesn't bode as well for a player of his caliber there...

To stay on topic, though, it is fairly obvious OD rules this game because it can stop outside shots AND passing to the inside mismatches. I wish they would scale it back a bit, but I don't think that is possible or likely at this juncture. Very, very good observation that patient primarily searches for the weak link in OD. Makes sense that my outside shooter always dominates this tactic even if I have an even more favorable matchup inside. It would be great if it searched for mismatches on the low block, too.

1. I was just jerking his chain.
2. One Respectable, Two Average and One Mediocre OD is my PG/SG including backups. (Well over AWFUL but gets rounded down a lot due to my other players)
3. No one needs your snobby comments.

Good day sir.

I think you read my post incorrectly. It was a factual post with no snobby intent. The only thing I can even see as being taken as snobby was the quotations around "decent OD" which I did to show that those were your words and not my own perception.

1 respectable, 2 average, and 1 mediocre guard combo would certainly fall in the awful range. It is not a 1-1 ratio (all proficient OD doesn't give you proficient team OD rating..closer to mediocre/average actually) and the center isn't figured AT ALL in the calculation and PF not very much at all. However, it is thought that the team ratings don't influence the calculations of the game engine, but rather gives you a rather rough idea using a formula different from the one the game engine uses (more individual matchup based).

I was simply trying to clarify the points being made above for the benefit of newer users reading this thread who may not understand where the chain may have been figuratively yanked and to add the insight of an experienced player (I have played around 12 of the 19 seasons, this is my third attempt at staying interested in a team). I probably should have replied to "everyone" so it didn't appear I was responding only to you.

You nailed it in the but on what I took offense too, good job.

I never thought it was a 1:1 ratio and won't continue on with this spat anymore.

The problem I have with patient is that, like someone earlier said, you can put Derrick Rose against Bynum and he tears him apart for like 70 points. In what basketball league ever would a team allow Derrick Rose to be guarded by Bynum for one possession, let alone a whole game?? And the option in this game to change your defensive matchups basically allows you to do that with zero penalty. Granted, I'm sure defensive switches are an incredibly complicated thing to put into the GE, but its something to look into maybe.
