I can't seem to find any Dawson posts that satisfy me, and same with bossofbosses, but I do remember him being the one to always tell people to train shot blocking to legendary. Here is an example of one of SpF's previews.
http://www.buzzerbeater.com/community/forum/read.aspx?thr...Darykjozef has many great posts, but the welcome thread to his federation may top them all. Since most people can't see it, here it is:
"Step One
You obviously suck. The sooner you admit this and stop kidding yourself, the better off we'll all be. Locate that little voice at the back of your head that keeps making excuses about why you've never won anything of merit, and squash it. Kick it in it's face if you have to, and have sex with its sister (and grandmother if necessary).
If there are still thoughts in your head that say "Well, if I could just raise a bit more cash...," or "Once I finish training [Player A]...," or "If I had just played 3-2 zone...," or "Maybe next season," you have failed. Keep repeating this step until those thoughts are just a distant memory that you can look back on and laugh at the utter stupidity behind them. Some thoughts you can replace the old thoughts with include, but are not limited to: "Silver trophies look better anyway, and really accentuate the feng shui I was going for with my trophy case," and "I only make the playoffs for the extra money," and "It's better than finishing fifth."
Once you've accomplished this, move forward to Step Two.
Step Two
You're awesome. Have you noticed just how much your team rules? What a kickass collection of players that is. Hell, you're destined to make it to round 4 of your country's tournament with that lineup of studs. You've already succeeded at this step, I don't know why you're still wasting your time reading this; you should be on Step Three already.
Step Three
Holy cheese-snorkeling Gumby dick, what the f*ck are you doing here already? Have you looked at your team? Did you even read Step One? Go back and read Step One and don't come back here until you're finished. I'll wait.
You didn't even go back, did you? Go back to the beginning and don't return here until you've sold off your starting PG and replaced him with a $40k+/wk backup C that only sees about 20 min of competitive action a week. That should keep you out of here for 3 days or so, before you proceed to Step Four.
Step Four
Wow, that's a nice backup center you have there. I mean, sure, you're overpaying for his SB skill, but at least he can shoot FTs if someone moved the rim about nine feet closer to the line. Hell, he could even play SF in a pinch; everyone knows that OD is useless on a SF because nobody in their right mind would play someone with guard skills at SF. It's okay that his handling and passing are crap, turnovers are completely random and you're saving around $300 per week on his wages, which is just good business sense.
What's that? Oh, who cares if you paid too much for him. The transfer compare thingy is broken and doesn't take into account the hidden skills like Charisma, Character, and Keeps His Locker Clean. You're doing great. Proceed to Step Six.
Step Five
It's like you don't even pay attention. I could swear I told you to proceed to Step Six.
Step Six
You should start thinking about selling off your team. They're aren't very good, after all, and they're just getting older. Put a plan in place wherein three seasons from now, you'll actually start training that star-potential 20yo you drafted two seasons ago. He'll make a nice player to start in cup games against lower division teams, and you'll be able to use him as a backup in league in about five seasons.
I mean, you do have a long-term strategy, right?"
Also, for those that don't know Chihorn, here is a great post from him:
