KDB was everyone's number 1 choice for years, but has his dominance, and managers alike, transcended time

I think so. KDB was one of the pioneers of the game, but then he tanked for a bunch of seasons, and did it again (and better) in a different era of BB.

Also, for what it;s worth..Brian was my mentor when I first started...and although we run very different tactical teams...Much of what he taught me way back when I benefit from today.

This is the key, and it'll be a long time before another is close.

i remember KDB's rebuild -- he ran through my league like LeBron James driving through the lane, just step out of the way and let him pass -- and later when he got back to the NBBA his team's DMI was over 21 million.

Context: the NBBA has a series of memorable teams recently, Tucumcari Whalers, Golden Horde, and of course A-Dubs squad, but the highest i recall their DMI's going was around 15 million.

You being one of the earliest BB managers still active today, It would be very interesting to see your top 4/10 teams of all time. Who you got?

A small footnote here, but Tucumcari Whalers happened to be in my D3 league a few seasons back. Nice to see him being considered among the best.

I don't think I watched closely enough that I would have much of an opinion beyond the first few who are almost always on anyone's list. I usually focus pretty closely just on where I am...often mostly just on the teams who are close on my side of the collumn. There are individual teams that are memorable for me, but not always because they were great. The thing about KDB is that his dominance shaped the game itself. The goal those seasons for all of the other good teams was to be 2nd. During times when the game was much smaller, but also during times the game was much bigger, that team was so dominant that other players had to time one big punch every few seasons. The method of tank and rise that became the norm was first done by other teams trying to challenge him. Usually they failed spectacularly, but that was the only shot. The he got bored, tanked, and demonstrated how to do it more masterfully than anyone else had. Another thing to remember is that the game had big changes from season to season with tactics, stats, and user base. Those were all big variables, and you could have the game figured out one season and quickly mess things up. Back then those things were innovations. Now, if a manager is merely very studious and dilligent, there are pretty clear paths to the big leagues.

I made a few changes to my list...

I based my rankings primarily off of these categories:

-Overall NBBA/US Cup titles (Including B3 runs round of 16 or better)
-Dominance over multiple seasons "Dynasties" (Including 2peats/3peats+, Doubles)
-Strength of competition (I.E. KDB v Ice Storm title duels)

1. King Drive Ballers

14 titles: 5 NBBA titles, 9 US Cups (including a 4peat, something that has never been done since); Notable B3 runs: 5 quarterfinals and 1 semifinals (1 of only 4 teams to do so - KDB, Bulls, Heathens, TKI).

2. Chicago Bulls

7 titles: 2 NBBA titles, 5 US cups; Notable B3 runs: two quarterfinals, 1 semifinals (1 of 4 teams) and 1 round of 16.

3. Lake Merritt Arrows

6 titles: 4 NBBA titles, 2 US Cups (Including 2 doubles: s14/s17, and an NBBA 3peat); Notable B3 runs: 2 quarterfinals and 1 round of 16.

4. Ice Storm BC

3 NBBA titles (All against KDB, including a 2peat); Notable B3 runs: 2 quarterfinals

***So, this is my "mount Rushmore." I plan to finish a top 10 including a list of teams such as: Funky Town Fire, Silverbacks, Heathens, and more.
