That was my only game using FCP this season. All of my bigs, backups included, had Respectable OD or better. All of my guards, backups included, had Tremendous OD or better. I trained Stamina a ton before trying this one game experiment so everyone on the team had Respectable Stamina or better. This is the worst game that my team has played all year. Of course it was all fast paced so it was the most points that my team had allowed by far, and this was my only loss. The team I played is solid and it was at their home, but, I am fairly sure that if I would have used M2M defense that I would have won. Maybe you guys could explain why this didn't seem to work for a team that had specifically built to try and run this option.

Edit: The only reason that I see for me losing is because I got killed on the boards and they had so many 2nd chance baskets. You would think with 17 steals and 30 assist with my opponent having 20+ turnovers would have been a winning formula. Maybe I'm wrong.

Well I'm no expert of this tactic but besides bad luck, the only possible reason of this loss that I think it might be is the lack of domination at comparison between your OD and opponent's offensive flow. It's 7 vs. 9, which, I think it should be enough but it's hard to call that it's a domination. Opponent's offensive flow is nothing great but not very weak either. So maybe 21 TOs for your opponent was not enough? Don't know.

Your opponent had 5 more offensive boards than you, but I see it as a consequence of bad luck since your rebounding ratings are almost equal.

I've looked at your game. I've looked at all your starters, all have reasonable steal averages. Your rebounding was pretty good for a game with fcp, and as you say you forced 20 turnovers. All I can say is I would have expected you to win that game. Respectable stamina is certainly enough, though as you can see with each quarter the score gets worse. Maybe the fast paced offence was just too much, though that never worried me. I hate to say you were just unlucky, but in this case I think you were.

The net turnover differential was 11 (their 21 turnovers minus your ten), and they had five more offensive rebounds, so the number of extra possessions from those factors was just six, although you ended up with nine more shot attempts presumably due to rebounds out of bounds and fouls and whatnot.

The thing is, though, if you're running a FCP and you don't get a steal, the odds are good the other team will get a better shot. Since your OD is reduced (presumably on an individual basis as well as the team rating), your defense will be less effective and if my presumption that the reduction is individual as well as the team rating, it may explain why the opposing SG shot 6-8 from three against you, most of which were contested by your SG.

Basically, you're selling out for a steal; your opponent seems to be quite capable of not turning the ball over too frequently, and then taking the time to find the best shot opportunity and capitalizing on your decreased defense. Of course, you still could have easily won, as you had a one point lead and your PF at the line for two free throws in the last minute, but he missed them both and the rest is history.

Hello all,

After these discussions, I tweaked my team accordingly and started using FCP this season.
Results are so far, so good:
(99655361)
(99655369)

I'm planning to use FCP almost every time this season and hoping to play for the title this season. If you want to follow a FCP team and see its effects, be my guest. :)

i was wondering what you guys think on fcp vs a team with 5-6 game shape starters
i am playing vs a favorite team by far but the game shape they are in is really bad was thinking on giving fcp a go here.

In my opinion there are more important factors than opponent's game shape.

- Your stamina vs opponent's stamina (Yours should be significantly higher)
- Your OD vs opponent's offensive flow

If you have a clear advantage in these 2 factors, FCP might be a viable option.
