I guess there is a problem with the skillset of Dejonghe because he never had a problem with fouling out

He's jumping on every fake the opponent makes, that will become better the older he gets ;)

The highest salary comes from Collège Saint-Louis Basket (484,346$) (Δ +13,84% compared to CSL last season), followed by TheRainmakers (513 117$) and Houdeng Donkeys finishes the podium with 451 695$.

The red side completely dominates the blue side salary wise. Golden Era is the only team that is able to split a bunch of red teams, but still has a 160k differential to CSL. Kriflonius is the only team on the red side who couldn´t/ didn't want to keep up with the salary augmentation. Krifl has the lowest salary on the side (90k less than the 2nd last salary).

Salary doesn't say it all of course but it gives an indication of how strong the red side is. Packers in 8th position, but in the blue group he would be in the race for play-offs. Really looking forward to the next couple of weeks :)

My weakest starting guard has 16 in OD and you beat me with Princeton...
My biggs have +10 in OD...

Maybe something due to the new GE ? Outside offense were aiming to get more importance. I don't know what is the SB level of your players but only good OD might not be enough anymore to fend off outside offense. Just a hypothesis...

557,395$ :P

Salary doesn't say it all of course

For sure ! What's more Pablito is the Belgian CP3... Really good but not a MVP while robbing the bank 8}

For me things are looking good right now, altough my star player got injured in the 6th minute. Aubel could only score 58 points, averaging 106points in the first 6 games. We'll see how things are going in the next couple of weeks. CSL is living up to its role as favourite until now.

That was crazy. My players scored 1 FG in the first quarter, that's insane
Sorry about Leigh... I told my players to make his night a nightmare, they took it a little bit too literally

I'm quite happy the level on the blue side didn't really increase. I should be able to secure the PO while still training my young players, who should slowly start to show their potential by the end of this season. As of right now my team is doing good in defense but I really feel like I lack offensive options, which leads to games like yesterday where my team scored a poor 58 points.

I think I'll sell Bourillon before the PO, once the top 4 is secured, while he's still worth something. I should have enough cash to buy a nice SF by the beginning of next season, and maybe a guard too. Not saying I'm going to be a very serious contender immediately next season, but my team should enter a more interesting era by then.

Maybe his new Idol is pre GSW Javal McGee, and he mistakes his Shaqtin' a fool highlights for real highlights.

I need to have a word with him :p

The new GE will only be active from next season on, so this is not the case

This is taken from the s52 news
The new game engine upgrade is upon us! We have not implemented it yet for all matches but starting next Saturday, it will be so. It was successfully tested last season and we believe it will bring balance to our BB world making those outside shots, especially Threes, rain!

So the new GEs has already been implemented since 26/12.
And I will llove this update, since I am training big men for the NT ...

As you may have noticed from the economic breakdown made by BigT, the red side is (a little?) stronger than the blue side.
I waited with this preview, because some transfers were still coming through, but 5 games have already been played, so I shouldn’t wait any longer.

Blue Side
IN: Beerschot Bears (BBBL), The Oliballs (III.10), Antwerp Mambas (III.11), Goalois (III.12), Animal spirit (III.16)
OUT: LV Clips (BBBL), BC Benfica (III.1), De Scheetebeezekes (III.4), THOMAS COOK (III.8), Beerschot AC (III.10)

1. The Golden Era: 392k [+37k]
The main favorite of the blue side, but The Golden Era would be no more than a PO candidate in the red side. However, with the experience of Warriorground as the U21 coach, his team will be balanced and there will be no lack of strategic knowledge.
But, the schedule is not in favor. I would be surprised if The Golden Era wins one of the first three cross-division match-ups. Taking into account Leigh is currently injured, let’s hope his game shape won’t take too much of a hit.

2. Estrellas Absurdas: 360k [-18k]
AnGi77 has clearly decided to rebuild. And not only that, but Estrella Absurdas is also the new home of two future NT players. Considering there are some older players on the roster, the new Biology Research Department that found ways to slow down age-related skilldrops are more than welcome.
Despite the slight decrease in total salary, this will be compensated by staff salary. And thanks to some great players on the roster, this is maybe the only competition for The Golden Era.

3. Beerschot Bears: 334k [NEW]
Fresh from 11 seasons in BBBL, Beerschot bears has admitted to also be in a rebuilding phase. With the latest transfers, the bank account will be decently filled. These transfers with the accompanied GS drops have already had a significant influence on the current standings. Niels_68 is three games behind the leader.
That said, as long as POs are reached, we will see Beerschot Bears in II.1 again next season. But I can imagine demotion isn’t a tragedy.

4. Aubel Nation: 320k [+0 k]
With no transfers done and trainees being trained in secondary skills, this is almost the exact same team as last season. And just like last season, I see Aubel Nation making the POs, but not as second seed.
Just a quick note: Veoz’ trainees are not Belgian, so can we get a ‘booo’ for that? :)

5. The Oliballs: 283k [NEW]
The first of 4 promoted teams in the blue side. Based on recent purchases, Oli_Da_Master won’t be satisfied with anything less than POs. Because of the sheer strength of the red side, one can assume it’s POs or relegation.
With a young roster, The Oliballs has the potential to be a solid div. II team. But without the star players it won’t be anything more than that.
I find it really difficult to analyze whether the cross-division schedule is good or not, since I can see teams going 0-8 even with the best draw possible. Only time will tell how this will play out.

6. Animal Spirit: 264k [NEW]
For some of us, this name will sound familiar. But only to some, since Animal Spirit said goodbye to II.1 in s47. The roster is filled with MVPs and a HoF. This is however not new for Sqwall, who has experience with drafting and training De Loor.
Unfortunately for Sqwall, this division is stacked, so the odds of playing in div. III again are quite large. On the flip side, minute management and training of an 18y/o HoF in a lot easier in div. III.

7. Antwerp Mambas: 263k [NEW]
One of the newest additions to Belgian BB: Antwerp Mambas. Started less than three seasons ago, but already made top 32 in the cup. Tante Tommie already found the way to the forum and mentioned that avoiding relegation would be difficult. I can only agree with this statement as the starting roster is not strong enough and some players are (too?) old.
With a paycheck just above the salary floor and extra merchandising from an U21 player, I’d suggest filling the bank and coming back to div. II in two seasons, hopefully in a weaker division.

8. Goalois: 208k [NEW]
No transfers, despite being 50k below the salary floor. A quick check learns that ebh741 hasn’t been online in 2 weeks. This explains the horrendous game shape and losses.
I’m fairly certain Goalois will finish last and take the first draft pick, if the team didn’t become a bot by then.
So everyone active on the blue side get’s a shot in the relegation games!

I could’ve copy-pasted last seasons’ preview here and it would still be accurate, with only 1 adjustment

Red Side
IN: Houdeng Donkeys (III.15)
OUT: rode duivels (III.15)

1. Collège Saint-Louis Basket: 557k [+78k]
Last season, HCA based on PD was the determining factor keeping CSBL from BBBL. This season, Tom10 wants to avoid such a situation, already being 5-0 with +159 PD. The team is young enough to have more than 1 chance at promotion, but finances probably work against that.
With Pablito as captain, only a handful Belgian div. II teams can compete with CSBL. I almost want Tom10 to fail, just to see the skillset of the best Pablo Pries in this league.

2. TheRainmakers: 513k [+57k]
Transfers had to come in for TheRainmakers to increase odds of promoting, and they came in indeed. Unfortunately, even at a paycheck of double the salary floor, there still is a better team. A loss by 18 @BouffAssist is far from ideal. These games can decide HCA in the semi-finals.
It wouldn’t be the best thing to see Dejonghe and Roos leave BigT, so let’s hope CSBL goes 22-0 and TheRainmakers wins the division.

3. Houdeng Donkeys: 451k [NEW]
Oh boy. Imagine being Nautelet. Finally getting away from Krifl, the voodoo-master. Only to came back a season later in the more difficult side. Houdeng Donkeys hasn’t had the best start to the season, losing the 4 first games.
With a strong team and plenty of games to go, only finishing 8th will mean relegation for Nautelet, on the condition that game shape and injuries [;)] don’t hold back too much.

4. TheAmbassadors: 432k [-3 k]
TheAmbassadors is still doing it with the same small roster as last season. This is again noticeable in the game shapes. So an early loss in the cup could do wonders. TheAmbassador finished 7th last season, so is the first on the chopping block if s51 is to be repeated.
But just like last season, a 7th place is not to worry if you’re on the red side.

5. armstrongs: 398k [+38k]
Armstrongs had one reinforcement, and it is a necessary one if POs are the goal. no women-* has overcome relegation games in the last 3 seasons.
Even with getting stronger during the off-season, worries for finishing 8th haven’t disappeared.

6. ccf packers: 388k [-3k]
With a 0-5 start, things are looking far from perfect for ccf packers. With Acquet making it to the NT, talent is not absent in this team. But why did dicus start so poorly? Is it game shape, strategic choices or bad luck? Who will say?
This young team does have the potential for better results, as indicated by the PD when compared to other teams in the league.

7. BouffAssist: 381k [+21k]
The team with the biggest arena in this division. And it’s in this arena that TheRainmakers already suffered a defeat to BouffAssist. However, a 5-0 start was probably not even the prediction of marvinxl himself. And with Teerlinck topping certain stat charts, this team could even be a dark horse or a third dog for this season.

8. Kriflonius: 292k [-8k]
90k down to the next team on the red side, Kriflonius currently sits in PO position. I expect this to change soon.
With training in mind, relegating wouldn’t even be a big deal for Krifl. Seminck and Veldeman are still young enough to justify a season in div. III. The question is where this division will be in 2 seasons, is it worth staying to promote then or is risking a change of division a better solution? I’m still questioning this …

That was definitely a mistake
When I started BB I was a seasoned Hattrick player (BB's football counterpart), and in Hattrick there are A LOT more active managers, so most managers just don't really care about the nationality of their trainees - it's extremely difficult for a player to make it to the NT even in a small country.

I figured it was very different in BB, with fewer active managers, you have to help your country build its NT, it's not going to build itself I had already bought my trainees when I figured that out, but I'll definitely try to train Belgian players after Zilei and Prechtl
