Chalk up another one for Essa.

Essa Abu-Kaleel (Last 2 games)
- 17 minutes played/6 fouls
- 42 minutes played/6 fouls (Scrimmage)

I'm sure the improved defense will help him eventually but it looks like he's got that foul trait no matter what. I've never had an 18 year old foul this much and plenty were a lot worse defensively than Essa.

My suggestion is to slow the game down as much as possible, particularily if it is a scrimmage and you don't need to win it. Play patient or low post and try to get your opponent to do the same. Explain to him that it is for training purposes.

Most fouls are on shots so the fewer shots that are taken by your opponent, the less fouls you should take.

Also, take note of it for future NT use. If you have an idea of who has the "physicality" trait, you can use it on your opponents in the future.

Good call on slowing down the game in scrimmages (or other games when you want the player to stay out of foul trouble). Here is the training update:

Week 1 - pg pressure: Braier (48 minutes) to respectable od, Fritzer (29 minutes)
Week 2 - pg pressure: Braier (46 minutes), Fritzer (48 minutes) to mediocre od
Week 3 - pg pressure: Braier (46 minutes) to strong od, Fritzer (48 minutes), Thomas (46 minutes)
Week 4 - pg pressure: Braier (33 minutes), Fritzer (48 minutes) to average od, Thomas (48 minutes) to average od and respectable handling
Week 5 - pg pressure: Braier (48 minutes), Fritzer (48 minutes), Thomas (47.4 minutes) to respectable od
Week 6 - pg pressure: Braier (47 minutes) to proficient od, Fritzer (48 minutes) to respectable od, Thomas (48 minutes)
Week 7 - pg pressure: Braier (48 minutes) to strong driving, Fritzer (48 minutes), Thomas (48 minutes) to strong od

First time all three got 48 minutes, and I have the first driving improvement. Was hoping to see consecutive week improvements on od from Fritzer, but I imagine his height will prevent that.

Hey,

if he's gonna hijack the thread with his HoF trainee, might as well do the same with mine!

glad to see he isn't a fouler (which I thought possible after his first two games).

I'm guessing the proficient OD is helping settle him down a little bit.

Are you all just training one position? I've been doing the PG/SG training all along, and I'm wondering if I'm going to fall behind that way. Anyone know the exact split of training?

I think it is pretty close to 2:1 if 48 minutes are reached - although this is just based on a few observations (I haven't done very much two position training after the training slowed down to normal speed).

And who is the other Canadian HOF? I know about Gino - he appears to be getting some forward training.
