That 3-2 is more efficient against LI than 2-3 is not a fact but an opinion.

I personally find it can work alright against LI if you've got solid bigs with a bit of SB en an SF that can defend inside as well. Besides that it depends on the outside shooting skills of your opponent. And it probably helps that I have a great defensive PG.

But it gives me some flexibility and extra possibilities to defeat inside offenses. And personally I believe that it was the reason I won last tuesday against a strong rival, who has more salary and while playing on the road. In the ratings my win looks weird but if you see how my 2-3 zone shut down his big men (low total shots and/or bad FG%) it makes a bit more sense.

I strongly believe that 3-2 could stop LI only if Perimeter Defense it's way over the opponent's Offensive Flow.

True, if oponent flow is good there is no way you can stop it with
3-2 zone. But since league 1 teams use to have like 10 passing on their sg/sf and like 13 on pgs thats the reason 3-2 zone works. but if the flow is good only chance is 2-3 zone... I used to have beast offensive flow few seasons ago runing LI like 85 percent of shots were assited ones. and when i was facing 2-3 zone shot percentages were down and asists rate was down to like the half its agains mtm.

the only problem is that 2-3 does not work :D

See my post a few posts back which was meant to adress exactly these kind of statements ("3-2 is better than 2-3 against LI", "2-3 doensn't work").

Summary: It depends on your players and the opponents players.

And still you cant answer the question what players are needed for 2-3. You just got a different opinion with no facts to back it.

Here is what I think. All 10 players (assuming one plays 5 starters and 5 backups) need suffocating or at least high OD. Along with that, forwards and centers need above-average ID and high SB to defend drives and inside shots.

A lot of guys in this thread seem to ignore the facts presented by Nachtmahr. Just go find them, read them and think about them. I'm sure you'll be able to draw the right conclusions then.

I'm not making idiot statements like the ones I just mentioned though. And some of the things I mention are facts, namely "how well a line-up works depends on your players and your opponents player". Or are you doubting that? Do you think a good LI or Run and Gun require exactly the same players?

And you never asked me what players were needed for 2-3 so why do you assume I can't answer? I've played 2-3 zones pretty effectively in the past. They are not a clearcut defense that you just always use when someone wants to attack inside. You need opponents with bad outside shooting and you yourself need to have an SF that can really defend down low there as well (high ID, maybe SB as well but mine is average there) and bigs that have high SB.

But I wrote exactly this in post #220.....so this mostly shows that you don't even bother to read the posts you bitch about.

His numbers were some great work. A bit sad that even in that thread only a few noticed them.
