A lot of guys in this thread seem to ignore the facts presented by Nachtmahr. Just go find them, read them and think about them. I'm sure you'll be able to draw the right conclusions then.

I'm not making idiot statements like the ones I just mentioned though. And some of the things I mention are facts, namely "how well a line-up works depends on your players and your opponents player". Or are you doubting that? Do you think a good LI or Run and Gun require exactly the same players?

And you never asked me what players were needed for 2-3 so why do you assume I can't answer? I've played 2-3 zones pretty effectively in the past. They are not a clearcut defense that you just always use when someone wants to attack inside. You need opponents with bad outside shooting and you yourself need to have an SF that can really defend down low there as well (high ID, maybe SB as well but mine is average there) and bigs that have high SB.

But I wrote exactly this in post #220.....so this mostly shows that you don't even bother to read the posts you bitch about.

His numbers were some great work. A bit sad that even in that thread only a few noticed them.

So, to play 2-3 succesfully, you need certain conditions with which you could win with every other kind of defense. Good to know it

If that's what you want to believe, then just keep playing MTM defense without thinking and trying out other things. I'll stick to using the options available to me to win matches.

Absolutely agree , trying to get 2-3 zone to work on buzzerbeater is like trying polish a turd.

And in an indirect way, he's also saying that 2-3 zone is going to become even worse now that JR is cheaper, enticing more managers to train it.

I'm not sure whether the people that ask me to prove it actually want me to show examples of why it works or just want to keep screaming that it's impossible to run 2-3.

Just in case you guys really do have an open mind and want to think about these things, I'll post some stuff below. If there's a 0% chance that you'll be convinced that 2-3 is useful in ANY situation, please say so and I can start doing useful things with my time again.

In this match I just played against a team that I normally have trouble beating, that has more salary than I do and more expensive bigs. With a MTM my SF would only cover the SF so I thought I could use the added defense against those bigs as well and I believe my SB helped extra as well with 7 blocks. Based on my history in the DBA I don't think I would have won here with a regular MTM. (62741943).

I don't use 2-3 that often either. But here and in season 20 to 23 when De Headless Chickens was in my league it was a good option. (once again I'm not saying it always works....and my SB is not that high yet and still needs to develop further)

Combine this with the facts that Nachtmahr showed about SB in:

(245985.10)
(245985.82)
(245985.84)

And with the general assumption on these forums that SB improves in a zone defence in BB.

I hope this has made some of you at least consider the possibility that 2-3 is an offence that sometimes can be used. Wolph you can test it out more in your PL/federation.
