Pool A:
1.Philippines(2) 3-0 344 311
2.Lietuva(1) 2-1 340 290
3.Peru(3) 1-2 334 316
4.Al Jazair(4) 0-3 278 379

Results:
Lietuva 113 at Peru 103
Peru put more effort into this game to try and pull off some miracle path to the worlds and...... it didn't work as Lietuva still ended up beating them. A big discrepancy was the rebounding numbers as Lietuva won that battle 61-35, it doesn't matter as neither team will be advancing either way. POTG: Paulius Jonas Vaidvila had a game high 35 points, a game high 21 rebounds and an 18.0 rating.

Phillipines 130 at Al Jazair 102
All Phillipines needed was a win and they were in the world championships and they beat a much weaker Al Jazair squad convincingly. Phillipines were able to knock off the favourites Lietuva and are the team that is heading into the worlds from this group and deservingly so, congratualtions Phillipines! I will be following you guys in the worlds now! POTG: Juan Marcelo Flores had 21 points, 7 rebounds and a 15.0 rating in the pool clinching victory.

Pool B:
1.Canada(2) 3-0 321 279
2.France(1) 2-1 337 293
3.Iran(3) 1-2 286 300
4.South Africa(4) 0-3 288 360

France 110 at Canada 119
I think everyone had the same reaction as me when I saw this result, I logged on, just to check this score and to my surprise the three numbers beside Canada was higher than the three numbers beside France. Nobody saw this coming, I didn't, some of the more experienced managers didn't, heck Canada NT manager beanerz did not even see this coming. However this victory came from the result of extra effort, right tactics and luck... alot of it. The buzzerbeater god(BC Torooo) shined their light on canada in this game and it is astonishing. For the umpteenth time congratulations beanerz and Canada a great job on this one, I can't wait to follow you in the world championships! POTG: Teo Saint-Arnaud had a game high 31 points, 8 rebounds and a 16.0 rating, in one of the biggest wins in Canada NT history.

Iran 122 at South Africa 109
Iran used more effort in this game, oddly. They ended up only winning by 12 so maybe they needed it. This was the only game that South Africa did not go inside with and they turned up some decent ratings. Both teams will be heading to the consolation tournament however and I will ot be talking about them for at least a whole season. POTG: Hormoz Kavousi showed why VS tbough him dropping a game high 42 points on 19-23 shooting, to go with a game high 20 rebounds and a 17.5 rating.

Pool C:
1.Poland(1) 3-0 369 224
2.Argentina(3) 2-1 313 304
3.Taiwan(2) 1-2 305 319
4.Tounes(4) 0-3 228 368

Poland 131 at Argentina 75
9 players with 19.0 ratings ar higher, 3 with 20 or higher, absolutely unbelievable ratings for a PTB game and HCA = utter destruction of Argentina by Poland in this one. Argentina even used more effort, this one was just ugly and Poland looks extremely dangerous right now. I thought this game was going to be a battle, it was definetly not. Poland will be advancing to the worlds and Argentina will be heading home, disappointed. Poland was the only European team to advance from the Repechage. POTG: Sylwester Rakus had a game high 27 points, a game high 20.0 rating and 10 rebounds.

Taiwan 124 at Tounes 87
Taiwan used more effort, although I have no idea why, and they crushed Tounes.Tounes couldn't handle Taiwans inside game and Taiwan easily handles Tounes' inside attack making this game a blowout. Neither team will be advancing however and are headed for the consolation and will be working for HCA next season! POTG: Chan Ren Qing had 20 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and a 16.5 rating in this win.

Pool D:
1.Uruguay(2) 3-0 329 316
2.Deutschland(1) 2-1 310 284
3.Hong Kong(3) 1-2 318 320
4.Nigeria(4) 0-3 277 314

Deutschland 110 at Uruguay 111
This game decided who got to be the lucky team that advanced to the world championships. I decided to make this before the game started because it is obvious that Deutscland was going to win- URUGUAY WON!?!?!? Wow two major upsets to two big time European countries???? Madness! Both teams used the same effort level, it looks like Uruguays 3-2 zone against Deutschland's Motion was enough to make a one point difference and that one point got Uruguay into the worlds. Congratulations Uruguay! POTG: Juan Bruschi had a team high 29 points, a game high 18.0 rating and 9 rebounds.

Hong Kong 115 at Nigeria 101
Hong Kong won this one by putting up some good ratings and Nigeria played an outside offense as opposed to their usual inside offense just as South Africa did. Both teams are heading off to the consolation tournament and maybe we will see them back in a couple of seasons. POTG: So Ka Hay had 16 points, a game high 21 rebounds, and a game high 17.5 rating.

U21 continentals

Pool C:
Results:

Panama 101 at Jamaica 98
Jamaica put more effort into this game and both teams played a LI , M2M game, but Panama was just a tiny bit too good even for Jamaicas extra effort and came out on top. Panama had ten more assists and 10 less turnovers then Jamaica and it seems that really helped in this one. POTG: Carlos De la Barrera had a team high 25 points, a team high 13 rebounds and a game high 11.0 rating.

Ecuador 106 at Guatemala 73
Both teams used the same effort level and Ecuador showed how much better than Guatemala they are. Even though Guatemala won the rebound battle, they turned the ball over 14 more times and that really help Ecuador. POTG: Roy Dante had a game high 32 points, and a 7.5 rating.

Chile 99 at Rep. Dominicana 47
Chile showcased their strenght in this blowout victory against Rep. Dominicana. Chile was able to outrebound, out assist, and in the 3rd quarter they held Rep. Dominicana to just 4 points, whilst puttig up some good ratings. POTG: Manuel Irarrazaval had 15 points, a game high 19 rebounds and a game high 14.5 rating.

1.Chile U21(1) 2-0 198 113
2.Ecuador U21(4) 2-0 195 158
3.Argentina U21(2) 1-0 97 69
4.Panama U21(3) 1-0 101 98
5.Jamaica U21(5) 0-2 183 190
6.Guatemala U21(6) 0-2 139 205
7.Rep. Dominicana U21(7) 0-2 116 196

Picks:

Rep. Dominicana(84) at Ecuador(44)
Rep. Dominicana has a couple of potentially dangerous players, however Ecuador is much more deep, this is a chance for Ecuador to improve to 3-0 and get a step closer to clinching a top 4 finish. My pick: Ecuador will be able to stand up to a Rep. Dominicana team that uses extra effort.

Guatemala(90) at Panama(54)
Guatemala is a very weak team, that has a bit of depth down low, but not much. Panama is a strong team, with some very dangerous players and should win this one easy looking at their talent levels and their GS. My pick: Panama improves to 3-0 while Guatemala drops another.

Jamaica(94) at Argentina(10)
While Jamaica has a couple of close two games and with a bit more luck could be sitting at a record of 2-0 right now, they are 0-2 still and are facing one of the strongest teams in Argentina, GS and talent are both in Argentinas favour and this game should be a walk in the park for Argentina. My pick: Argentina blows out Jamaica.

U21 continentals

Results:

Paraguay 118 at Bolivia 101
Paraguay used a 2-3 zone against Bolivia's Run and Gun offense. Fortunately they were playing Bolivia and Paraguay still managed a convincing win, while putting up some good ratings. Paraguay used their 2-3 zone to dominate the rebounding battle and outrebounded Bolivia by 25 rebounds. POTG: Dorival Lafuente had a team high 29 points, a game high 21 rebounds and a game high 13.0 rating.

Colombia 110 at Puerto Rico 78
Puerto Rico got dominated even though they put in more effort then Colombia did. Colombia put up some really reallyy impressive ratings. Colombia had 17 more rebounds and 12 more assists. Puerto Rico also played a 3-2 zone against Colombia's Look Inside offense and that really hurt. POTG: David Castano had 16 points, a game high 7 assists and a 13.0 rating.

Brasil 119 at Mexico 81
Both teams played at the same effort level, and both teams had some good ratings. Brasil had better ratings however and their GS and talent advantage was enough to take control and dominate Mexico. The rebounding battle was close however Brasil had 28 more assists. Also Brasil shot 53% while Mexico shot just 33%. POTG: Danilo Martinello had 17 points, 7 rebounds and a game high 14.5 rating.

1.Colombia U21(2) 2-0 252 153
2.Brasil U21(1) 2-0 237 172
3.United States U21(3) 1-0 101 77
4.Paraguay U21(5) 1-0 118 101
5.Puerto Rico U21(6) 0-2 169 228
6.México U21(4) 0-2 158 220
7.Bolivia U21(7) 0-2 176 260

Picks:

Bolivia(95) at United States(5)
Bolivia is one of the lowest ranked, worst U21 teams in the world. United States is one of the highest ranked, best U21 teams in the world. Enough Said. My pick: United States.

Puerto Rico(91) at Paraguay(67)
Puerto Rico has the best guard out of the two teams. Paraguay has the three best big men out of the two teams and a couple of ok guards. Puerto Rico's GS is not bad, neither is Paraguays. My pick: Puerto Rico stuns Paraguay with an effort boost in this game.

Mexico(72) at Colombia(39)
Mexico is a very deep, young team with a bright future, Colombia is a deep team with a few monsters including one with a salary of114k who has proficient GS. That spells disaster for most teams, Colombia has good GS overall, but proficient for that guy is terrible for Mexico. My pick: Colombia rides their big men all the way in this one. Mexico drops to 0-3 and will need to win out.

U21 continentals

Pool A:

Results:

Costa Rica 107 at Bahamas 85
Bahamas were leading at half, but Costa Rica wasn't about to be one of the rare teams that lose to Bahamas and came through in the 2nd half and eventually winning comfortably. Both teams used the same effort level and the ratings were ot so great, but Costa Rica will take it, any day. POTG: Richard Carmona had 21 points, a team high 16 rebounds and a 9.5 rating.

Uruguay 145 at Barbados 61
Uruguay put up some really impressive ratings, although it wasn't necessay as they play woely Barbados. Barbados put up ratings that U21 teams should never ever put up as they were embarassing! Either way Uruguay won and improved to 2-0. They scored 30+ points in every quarter ucomplete control. POTG: Edgardo Molina had 17 points, a game high 7 assists and a 13.0 rating.

Canada 94 at Venezuela 89
The ratings put up in this game were good ratings, this game was very eventful as well. Venezuela held the lead after the first quarter, at half and after three quarters, however Canada staged a comeback in the fourth quarter in which they seemed unstoppable, they couldnt miss! Outscoring venezuela 33-11 on route to the come from behind victory.Pawel Niestepski had a team high 23 points, a game high 17 rebounds and a 12.0 rating in the win.

1.Uruguay U21(2) 2-0 266 117
2.Canada U21(1) 2-0 205 137
3.Costa Rica U21(5) 1-0 107 85
4.Peru U21(3) 1-0 87 77
5.Venezuela U21(4) 0-2 166 181
6.Bahamas U21(7) 0-2 141 228
7.Barbados U21(6) 0-2 109 256

Picks:
Barbados(92) at Costa Rica(71)
When one of the two opponents is Barbados you know the other team is the favourites, unless its Bahamas against BArbados, however Barbados' opponent is Costa Rica, not bahamas and so in that case.... My pick: Costa rica wins with ease.

Bahamas(96) at Peru(31)
Peru with HCA against Bahamas, that is all I need. My pick: Peru dominates improves to 2-0 and Bahamas gets closer to their epic Barbados vs Bahamas game.

Venezuela(70) at Uruguay(23)
Venezuela was able to put a scare into Canada, and I see Uruguay as a weaker Canada. I think Venezuela tries to put up a fight. My pick: Venezuela puts in more effort, but their injury and their GS update is not good enough to beat Uruguay who win this one.

Well here it is the world championships writeups, let us all take a moment right now... ok enough of that my first worlds writeups! Exciting, especially because Canada is still in it, without further adieu, here we go!

World Cup:

Pool A:
1.Italia
2.Chile
3.Uruguay
4.Phillipines
5.Australia
6.Misr

1.Italia has to be the favourites in this pool. They have no weakness anywhere. They have a great player at every position and they have depth at every position as well. They have 12 players on their roster so they have space for callups if necessary, I think Italia should do very well this season and itll start with a pool win.

2.Chile, like Italia, have no weakness and are strong at each position, however they are a little weaker at each position which helped me choose Italia over defending champions Chile. One thing that was also a factor was the fact that Chile only has 7 players on their roster, while they do have space for callup(lots of it!) they have no depth at all and that could be a factor, hopefully their players have good stamina ;).

3.Uruguay is a deep team with a very strong roster, even at this level and they have a very strong inside attack. Unfortunately they are a bit weak at the shooting guard position as one of their shooting guards is out for a month and another is having GS issues, hopefully theyll be able to hold the fort without those two, but it could be their doom.

4.Philippines was hard to choose. Australia was making a very good case for fourth, but I felt Phillipines has a stronger team. Two negatives about Philippines right now are they have 17 players already so only one more callup slot left, and they have two big men and a shooting guard with mediocre GS that could hurt them.

5.Australia is only down here because even though they do not have any defineite weaknesses they are weaker at each position then the teams ahead of them. They have 15 players on their roster leaving space for 3 more callups if needed and I think they may have to use them. They have an injured shooting guard at average GS, two point guards at average GS, a shooting guard at average, a big man at mediocre and another big man at average. Not too great for them.

6.Misr is actually a pretty strong team, they are the African champions at the moment and their roster is strong They hava definite inside presence, but are lacking in the outside deparrtment and it will be their downfall. Being the African team is harder, I think this team is strong enough to steal a win or two however, watch out.

Picks:
Italia(4) at Philippines(17)
Italia is the strongest team in this pool and while Philippines is a strong team they just can't handle Italia at each position. This week I think Italia will attack from the outside as they have great players who have great GS this week so an outside attack is eminent. My pick: Italia wins.

Uruguay(15) at Misr(34)
Uruguay is definetely the stronger team and can handle the bigs of Misr so this game seems pretty straight forward. My pick: I think Misr uses some extra effort, but Uruguay can handle them and wins.

Australia(8) at Chile(1)
Chile is the defending champions of the world and have another strong team this season, I think Australia is the weakest non-African team in this pool and that Chile should take care of business and could do it any way they want to. My pick: Chile wins this one and saves some effort for later on in the tournament.
