It's possible to base your team off older players if you anticipate skill drops. You will end up paying higher salaries for lower skills but that's the 'penalty'. Drops are inevitable and used to really frustrate me until I learned to think of them as a result an inverted form of training. Here's some tips from a seasoned "dust monger" on minimizing them. Note: Currently, I don't train young players.

1) Get a trainer with career extension
2) Train FT/ST to keep their DMIs up and also help to minimize pops
3) Get your players their mins. every week.

Those few simple tips will minimize drops and keep you looking like the Boston Celtics. Dusty but dangerous. :)

"99.9% of people know there is a problem but a couple of deniers & those in charge can say "opinion is divided we will wait & see"

I think one guy in Kerplekistan changed his mind, so you really should now say 99.895%, as I know how laboriously you collected the data for that 99.9% assertion.

Actually, talking serious and stuff, there is a good deal of literature out there analyzing how player performance changes with age. This is perhaps best known for baseball, where most often players continue at their average performance until they suddenly drop off significantly. This is perhaps what bigfishy experienced with his player. Of course it's possible that fishy's player started with low sublevels, and as such, his actual performance might not have declined as fast as all the red arrows accumulated.

Of course, basketball player performance isn't the same thing, though many studies have demonstrated sudden, significant drops in player ability during aging. There's also a random aspect to it as well. Some players maintain their ability longer than others. But I'd hazard a guess that over a wider base of BB player observations, is pretty well modeled in the current aging process.

No, the current age setting for skill decrease is fine.
Most players (including all of the players you wrote) get skill decrease during this age.
Most players get to their top at the age of 27.

In case they will practice accordingly ("Career Extenxsion" speciallity), and will get actual practice, they will face less decrease, but the decrease is imminent.

One more thing - the skill decrease, but the experience keeps climbing up, so the "advantage of old players in the real-world" is basically kept.

Just like real life.

In the end this suggestion was suggested and supported by exactly those who will benefit right-away from this non-real change-request.
And in case changed from 32 to 33 (or whatever), and their (yours?) players will get older by another year, they will request once again the same suggestion with a new age...

How many player in the NBA does not quit at this age? Very few.

Didn't understand your last sentence here...

Anyhow, it is not linear when you are young, so why should it be when you (the player) are old? No reason of any relation between the two.

First - You really must calm down. It's a discussion, no need to get personal here.

Second - If such a change will take effect, it will have massive effect on the players market. I can't really say if it's something that the game needs or not, but I do know that if such a change will be implemented, BB must inform users about it as players over 30 years old market value will increase.

imho if they change it, i think they should go down and let skills decrease with 31 or maybe even 30. At least for my old squad, the skilldowns ain't that ugly and in my eyes basketballer have there strongest period betwen 28 and 32.
