Good post - ball for you. The point you raise about the limited crop of bigs behind our strong current players is very important, and we'd do well to address it.

I have my 3 guards Ko Maruya (18 Superstar), Kazushi Miyakawa (18 perennial allstar) & Tetsuo Soma (19 star still looking for a beter 3rd) that I am training. We need someone to get onto the next generation of bigs. From the NT list you can see that while OS teams like Nippon players they dont train them very well.

Currently I'm training Torii (25yo MVP), Tomioka (22yo Superstar) and Mori (18yo PA). All guards, and I drafted all three. I have high hopes for Torii & Tomioka, but Mori's not great - at best he'll be a solid-ish back-up in the JBBL. If I land a better player in the draft, I'll sell Mori... but it is what it is. That said, I'll lean towards bigs for my next draft set.
I'll never have another non-Japanese trainee, and I'm TRYING to emulate Toranaga and go local as much as possible for my roster (timing's precluded a total one!).

Sorry, was traveling. Let me give a little more of an explanation now that I'm back. This is related to a conversation we had during the election about the future state of our bigs.

Basically we have no future bigs 22 and above and we're hoping for something to come out of U21 soon. Our core bigs are 30/31 and there are no developmental players at National Team age. We are facing a situation where in 3-4 seasons we're going to have a big drop off when our starters start to decline.

Before the season started I sought to find some bridge players that would play after the current starters are no good but carry us until we can get new players developed. The options weren't great but I added Nishimura, Ookawa, Takasugi. Nishimura and Takasugi are OK. Ookawa is extremely mono-skilled and I really hesitated to add him. But there is a huge drop off after that and if these players get fired by their teams then we have nothing. So putting them on the NT roster is protecting our future, somewhat.

On Motoori, It's not the he's not better than Ookawa, he certainly is. It's his age and relative quality vs our core guys. Basically at 31 he will never see real playing time for us. We have 5 bigs aged 29-32 that are ahead of him, so I'm not going to use a roster spot on him.

I will contact the two guys pointed out on the U21 roster.

Uh, that's rough ;)... Thanks for the advice, appreciate. Do let him play PG and train him there single position is not possible for me. I'm glad to be stucked with my players in the mid-field of JBBL which means I don't have to worry about drop. As Tagasuki is also a NT member (playing on a training position) and I have three more to train for the moment, I must let Ookawa play as C/PF and train him in PRESSURE and PASSING double position.

I know, I know, it won't help that much, there will be max. 3 to 4 ups in OD and PA over the next two season (that includes Tagasuki, too). But the two guys are anyway just backups in the NT and won't hardly play. Just want to get 'em some *extras* on their way.

As mentioned before, made an Utopia team (Riyazaki Mockers) and it's only done for training Japanese future players. Will jump on the single position training train as soon as a good player with at least superstar potential is around.

Cheers

Motoori is a baller, in fact, I would rather have a 34 yr old Motoori than a 30 OOOOOO(Yuck)Kawa

TBH, I really don't care if my players are on the team, I know I am making ballers. Maeda will be the one very shortly.

Much happier with game shapes this season. All our core guys are at 8 or 9. So much better than the last two seasons. Let's hope this continues.

I like how Maeda is coming along, and thanks for the pop this week. I think there have been quite a few lately.

By the way for everyone on pops and line-ups. We have 9 guys that I would call our regulars. They are always in the line-up and playing unless they are injured or gameshapes are bad. That leaves 3 open spots for the 12 that will suit up for the game. I like to reward players when they have training pops. This week Maeda, Takabe, and Shindehara each had a pop and as a reward for the training focus they will each get to dress for the game. No promises though that they will see any playing time.

On the U21 team we have

Fumitake Nakata (33169491)
Weekly salary: $ 16 570
DMI: 265400
Age: 21
Height: 6'10" / 208 cm
Potential: superstar

Yuya Akimoto (33169496)
Weekly salary: $ 9 279
DMI: 60400
Age: 20
Height: 6'10" / 208 cm
Potential: MVP

as well of a bunch of guys with allstar potential, 5k salaries and in pitiful GS lol.

Maybe Brutus you should contact their owners & tell them they could have the next NT bigs on their hands and discuss their training.

As I've gone out to contact these owners I've noticed that Akimoto's owner, JURIANA of Saitama Kobatons hasn't logged in since October 18th. We should be watching to see if he goes bot soon, and someone be ready to grab Akimoto. Or, this could be one of those accounts that just logs in every 6 weeks. I haven't been watching him that close so not sure.
