Pilipinas defeated anew by host, Australia, 86-70

In a game where the winner gets to set foot in the World Championships, Pilipinas fell short against the steamrolling host, Australia. Initially keeping the game close in the 1st quarter, Australia decided to ramp it up, leaving the Pinoys in the dust.

In our last game of the season, Leorio Lovino lead the charge on offense putting up a team-high 23 pts and 5 asts. Paul Emery contributed 13 pts, 3 rebs and 2 stls. Arby Monegro was the only other player to score in double digits (10 pts, 5 rebs, 2 stls) albeit in abysmal 3 of 16 shooting from the field.

To conclude our season, I would like to thank all the coaches who kept all NT players in tiptop shape. Special mention as well to coaches who are keeping their prospective NT player in great shape while patiently waiting for them to get called up. I would like to thank Coach Morwood and all PH coaches who helped rebuild our current program and train our current pool of players. Let's try to keep this up and keep improving.

I would like to extend my appreciation as well to our veterans (Coach Obi(55117), Coach Jeorge(190144), Coach Leo(54375), Coach Ivan(54442), Coach Greedy(54357), Coach TJ(55022), Bro Khen(54180), fpanzer(54605), Alonzo Hood(190562)) who are continuously supporting the NT program and are helping in developing our future players. Kung may mga nakalimutan pa akong i-mention, pasensya na po.

Again, maraming salamat sa suporta ngayong season na ito. Hopefully kasama ko pa rin kayo next season sa World Repechage. We'll do our best to reach the World Championships.

Laban Pilipinas!

NT Press Release

Panthers beat Guerreros, 112-94

The Pilpinas Panthers notched their first win in the Season 58 World Championships Repechange, beating 19th seed Mexico.

Combo guard Raymund Duraliza led the way for Team Pilipinas with 24 points. "We planned for a balanced attack in this game. We wanted everyone to contribute because we know our team has what it takes to advance in the next round," Coach Rad said after the game.

The Panthers' suffocating pressure led to Mexico with a subpar shooting performance, finishing the game with a 35% clip from the field, including 26% from behind the arc. "Mexico was relying on its inside game, and we knew our bigmen can stand their ground. We wanted to make sure we took away their ability to make their jump shots." The Panthers opened the game with a 12 point lead by the end of the first quarter, and did not look back since.

The win bring Team Pilipinas with a 1-1 record, with one game left, against Egypt. Their only hope to advance is for Italy to lose big against Mexico, and the Panthers to win big against Egypt.

It is rumored that representatives from the different Mexican cartels are being sent to the Azzurri's training camp, to 'pursuade' the team in dropping their match. The front offices of both squads were unavailable for comment as of this time, although men wearing pin-striped fedoras were found roaming outside the Italian quarters.
