Thanks for tracking my progress all. Would love to avoid scrutiny right now, but i guess buying a 70K PG doesn't help that!

The story of the second purchase is one of desperation - had to make an emergency big man purchase before the economic update (and before playing Crocs on Tuesday) due to 2 injuries to 2 of my best 3 big guys. Things are looking a little less drastic now than they were on Saturday night.

Had I got the bloke i missed out on (Shaun Mueller, ex-Lewisham Wombats C) it would have been superb, but it wasn't to be.

This big is more than capable, but Mueller is a 56K C with great secondaries - alas playing somewhere in Poland now. Damn it!

but a bit of big man insurance will be handy for the battles ahead and not to mention taking up some valuable minutes for gameshape purposes. Crocs usually schools me inside, and schools me in general, so will see what tomorrow brings.

I almost pulled off the win on Satruday - Canpolat hit a 3 to tie the game with 11sec remaining. Then I got smashed in OT. Watch out for Slashers SF Di Marco. Can play a bit. I should have payed more attention to him!

Well played Slashers.

Too early to make any ladder predictions yet...all have good rosters and can beat anyone on their day. nervous times...

Hags still has to play Vios, Lordy and All-Sorts. Couldn't get much worse. The last two are away, he also has to play Vios on TV so Vios may try harder to win. No walk in the park for him.

All quiet in II.3?

Anyone broken the $769,979 a week record for div 2 players salaries?

Looks like all the action is happenning in the ABBL

I suggest you ask again in 10 days and you may get a very different answer.

Are you going to give the record a shake yourself?

I now know the long term ramifications of such a tactic

Struggling to comprehend that Beechy might be relegating.

Absolute institution of the league and a Manager who I have always respected and feared.

I agree, but he decided that his team was going to struggle to promote and that even if it did it wouldn't have a great future in the ABBL. Short term loss for a great long term gain. I wish him well, he could always beat me every single time we played and yet when I looked at his players that were sold they were nothing special and mine were better than his in almost every way - however there was still the Shortall factor.

High quality small forwards are not all that common in div 2.

Agree he'd have a roster worth bugger all, yet win games against what appeared on paper to be better opponnents.

Surprised he didnt get some 18 year olds with some decent potential to train up.

Very unlucky that he never got a promotion to the ABBL with so many near misses.

If I hadnt of rolled the dice a couple of seasons ago I would still have been top 4 without really threatening.

Game is easier now because of those hard lessons learned in the ABBL

Smeltz may have stuffed up not sticking to his original strategy of all out tanking

Beechy is every chance to roll me this weekend, given my epic fourth quarter against you yoda. Ball is in phoenix's court though. One win and he is safe... Until relegation series anyway.

On a brighter note, who will be MVP?

After such a close game and you know I greatly respect your team, a 28-5 rout was a (pleasant) surprise to me too.

For Beechy not to auto-relegate he needs to go 3-0 while one of Steves Crocs or Phoenix 5 goes 0-3. Not impossible but it would be impressive.
