I suspect that this will iron itself out in a couple seasons.

My guess is that the world ranking will become much more accurate. Before this, there was not that much inter-country play, other than scrimmages which people don't necessarily field their starters and private leagues, which can be used for experimentation.

So, how to value a 11-11 team in two different leagues? With BBM, there are a lot more inter-country games and so, after a season or two, the rankings will become more accurate.

If a team is way overmatched for its tier, it will lose a lot and its ranking will go down and then, the next season it will be in a lower tier. Same if its overmatched.

While your salary is way lower, apparently your team is well suited for its tier because its in the top what, 1% of teams in the tier? Even though you have no chance to win your tier, you will make the playoffs which only like 5% of the tier gets to do. Just because you dont have a chance to win the whole thing doesn't mean that the system is broken and needs to be fixed.

Managers from small countries still have a huge advantage in this competition.

If two teams are at similar level in this competition, you have to know that the manager from, for example, Spain is infinitely better manager than the manager from, let's say, England or Australia.

I thought a bit more about this. Now I understand that managers from small countries like this competition. They don't have real competition in their home leagues. All semi-inactive managers and bots there. So they enjoy some real competition, and they still have that big advantage that allows them to think that they are good managers when compared to div.3 teams from Spain or Italy.

But let's be honest. This competition is just a useless patch to avoid doing what in reality should be done: [merge all the leagues together.

In the past, people could dream of this game growing and growing and having a lot of big leagues. Not anymore. Today even the most competitive league would benefit from being bigger and having a true div.4 and a more competitive div.3.

Does BBM even influence world rankings? My rating has reacted to me losing league games and not changed much after won BBM games. So I don't find this statement accurate.

That's why I argue not for myself, but for most of yet to be beaten teams. The number 4 team has close to zero odds of winning, despite it being THE number 4 team. And lets not forget that most of the 1 percent that you're mentioning (same as with 5%) have the same odds. I don't find this very appealing from a competitive point of view.

If you find this OK, well, I guess you never played real sports. Or anything competitive at that note.

Probably you haven't have yet played a sport/egames in an early development sir... what you are saying is obviously correct... we just have to be patient for now coz it's just the BBM's first season... the system will sort things out and would get better as seasons pass by...

But all in all to what you said I agree... and kinda hoping from the first place that BB could have also include BBM to calculate WR... IMO as BBM Tier/placements updates... BB can also convert them to Ranking too...

Don't get me wrong. I'm in no position to demand anything. I'm just pointing out flaws, which I'd be extremely happy about being gone :) . However, with things staying as is I'm still very happy about BBM :)

To stop teams from adding salary to just win the BBM, make the first game as the transfer deadline for BBM. You can still buy players but just like buying a player after the playoff deadline, he can be used in league games and cup games but not allowed in BBM games. I plan on winning my league this season, I will get a promotion bonus and I will have to add salary to make the salary floor in the top division.My WR will be that of a Div.II team but I will be really a Div. I team playing in Tier 2 or 3. But this is the first season, I'm sure BB will iron out these wrinkles.

i rarely agree with what you say but this one gets my thumbs up

it's piece of cake to make lots of $$$ playing in a small country while it's extremely hard to get to the summit at big countries. at the same time, players are bought and sold regardless of their nationality. so, I couldn't agree more: leagues should be merged internationally. i hope BBM would eventually lead to that, hopefully soon.

Do you happen to know the teams' salaries at the beginning of the season? Even if the Tiers were salary based. What happens when a team doubles their salaries after the start of the season? Like the Pig Sixers (5th place).

I think this feeling of unfairness will happen no matter what rules we use to define the tiers. There are so many teams with millions in money to spend that could always decide they wanted to win their tier.


I agree that there will be some unfairness no matter what, but is there a way to factor what division a team is in into their world ranking more? Or at least consider it heavily for what BBM tier they are placed in? It seems to me that if all teams in a tier were in relatively the same division then they would have equal earning potential and therefore would only be able to afford roughly the same amount of salary. That is why individual leagues are fair; all teams have similar TV contract, merchandise, and attendance income so they tend to have similar team salaries.

Tier 3 currently has a lot of division II and III teams, but it will for sure be won by a division I team as they can afford to pay much higher salaries.

Relax! I was just saying that its OK if a giant new competition isnt perfectly fair immediately, it may take some time to work itself out.

Also, there is no system where all 1000 teams are competitive in each tier, it just doesnt work that way. Because only 6% of the teams make the playoff, the vast majority are not competitive and, in fact, will be eliminated by week 2 or 3.

My main criticism is that BBM is at the beginning of the season, when its least needed. After all, if the point of BBM is to add another competitive game each week, then we dont need it at the beginning of the season when we have the cup.

We do have a cutoff for players being added to the playoff roster. Maybe we could do something similar for BBM? (Like, added for the playoffs? But it doesnt seem like its enough money to be worth it IMO)
