2 offensive rebounds is not the record for the fewest boards by a team. My team had that same number of offensive rebounds at least three times, and I've seen other teams have that number many times. Those numbers happen much more often than one would expect them to (even in not-so-lopsided matchups) if at least one of the teams is using a 2-3 zone. Yes, many people tend to criticize how uneffective the 2-3 zone is in decreasing the opponent's FG% when neither is the opposing offense a suitable target for it nor is their team defensively qualified to run the zone, but few seem to realize how unrealistically effective it is in limitating the number of shot attempts the opposing team has and how crutial that can be when the opponent would shoot the lights out regardless of the defensive tactic it is up against.
I've never seen a blank performance on the offensive glass, but I've seen two 1 OR performances, one of which is easily reachable, since the game in which it happened was already in the record list, featuring the team with the most offensive rebounds in a game:
(27870457). For the second 1 OR performance, let's get back to what I said about the 2-3 zone, in a game where my team showed their superb janitor skills in a competitive matchup:
(72218797). To put it in a better perspective, the rebounding of my three big men was 18, 16 and 15, and judging by the minute distribution and the IS rating my team had in that game, I believe all three were in proficient game shape.
Still, only 2 offensive rebounds against a FCP defense is very impressive.
