I agree, for the U21 JR is maybe acceptable, but for the NT i would never select a guard with less than 9 or 10 JR...

you guys are all right, i was just thinking there probably is a good domestic player in there with some JR training (which youd need for some guard trainees anyway even if they start at respectable) then a focus on PG skills. after all he is already blessed with some good guards skills to start with.

its a shame JR is fairly slow to train and its not easy to accomodate if your other trainees are on top of their JS already too

hypothetically, what would the best 80k-100k salary PG with 5 JR look like? would they do ok as a sub PG in the EBL or would the low JR be too much of a let down?

EDIT:
Just did quick bit of research.

JS/JR/OD/HA/DR/PA/IS/ID/RB/SB

OK so
15/6/16/18/18/12/2/5/7/7 is 80k salary
18/6/16/17/19/12/3/4/6/2 is 70k salary
14/7/16/13/14/15/2/8/7/4 is 75k salary

JR at this level too much of a liability? i am wondering whether without better passing (which i guess adds a lot more to salary) a good defence will leave the PG driving or shooting more than is good for the team

for a backup this might work, but for a starter i think the 16OD in the EBBL is as big as a problem as the 6 JR is.

that is my opinion though

no offence ment to the trainer off this player. his inside skills have been perfectly trained for his age, but look at the secondaries. isnt it possible to buy a 18 yr old one with inept or mediocre in secondaries instead and train him?

this is such a waist for both the owner and the NT...

Are we meant to train secondaries before we train his main skills then? This is why im selling him, so he can get some of his secondaries trained all being well. I can't give him this training, so instead of making his salary way to high so its hard to train his outsides, i am selling now..
If everyone trained secondaries to a good level, then trained his primarys, the u21 squad wouldnt be as strong as it is..

and why not buy a 18 yr old player with mediocre-average in all skills and train him up? they dont cost alot, i am sure you could have afforded that. probably not more than 500k. yes he would have same inside stats as your guy has now at 21 and not at 20, BUT when he is finished you will make a lot more on your player with same inside skill set as this guy can achieve because he has nice secondaries... I have posted an example below.

and i am curious to see if someone will pay 1.6million for him. i truly hope someone will so you can investe the money in a super english trainee and train him

sold most players on my team so i can give my player thom 1 position training...

why do people always feel attacked.

i praised you for doing a great job on training your player. Mikramus did understand exactly what i was trying to say. Ideally we want players with more balanced skill sets for the NT, this doesnt mean that your player would stand no chance. Austin plays for the NT too until we have decend players. However, not for long, because his coach manages his GS in a terrible fashion...

i did look on the TL and noticed that 18 yr old players, similar to what I was talking about, go for insane amounts off money. so i cant show you an example for what i mean, because there is almost noone for sale for below 500k.

the TL is totally insane.

When I read you're first post, it sounded condescending. Why make a comment about how poor his secondaries are? Do you know how much money he had to spare when buying this trainee? No. If he had $2m saved up then i'm sure he'd have bought a super trainee with perfect skills everywhere, but clearly he didn't have that money and bought what he could and has done an amazing job training him, I have only seen a couple of 20 year old with similar inside skills as that!

What would you rather have playing for U21 astragoth?

Jump Shot: pitiful Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: atrocious
Driving: inept Passing: atrocious
Inside Shot: tremendous Inside Def.: wondrous ↑
Rebounding: sensational Shot Blocking: strong
Stamina: inept Free Throw: inept

or

Jump Shot: pitiful Jump Range: average
Outside Def.: respectable Handling: mediocre
Driving: inept Passing: mediocre
Inside Shot: prominent Inside Def: prominent
Rebounding:prolific Shot Blocking: strong
Stamina: inept Free Throw: inept

Both have exactly the same number of skills, just with secondaries that are acceptable... Would you play a C with 10,10,11 big man skills for U21? no, didnt think so...

this is what i mean

yes i criticised the player and? I also praised the player.

why do you and he both read it as condescending and why do not all read it as condescending.

the saying in english is, a glass is half full or half empty. the point is not so much how i write it but the point that i am trying to get across. I never mention a 2 million player. I never mentioned a 1 million player.

a trainee starting like this

18 yr old, tall enough for big training and superstar or better potential

mediocre JS mediocre JR
average OD mediocre HN
medicore DV inept PS
inept IS inept ID
inept RB inept SB

doesnt cost alot. You need to look for him/her. but he wont cost a million, i doubt he will cost 500k

Yes he will not look like his player the way he is at 20, because his inside stats are probably lower than the player he trained, but he will be at 21 at that level, that means when he is finished, he will be finished one year later than this player. but i can guarantee you that he will fetch more money than the player with 2 times atrocious skills. more importantly he will have a better chance to make it into the NT if he wants to keep this player.
