I know the GM's read through these forums so i am going to start this here and take it to a few other forums until they respond.... BUT PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME!!!! Why is that someone who puts a guy on the transfer market can then BID on his own guy? Basically its Bulls*** what it does is allows an owner with enough capital to drive up the price on a guy he's selling and really the only penalty for it is the small 3% he loses on the "agent fees"etc.... Continuing this thought...ITS UNFAIR AND MAKES 0 LOGICAL sense. Someone please explain what functional purpose this has... Basically what it does or says is if you have a lot of money... put one of your guys up for sell for really cheap so he gains immediate attention being a decent enough player and being sold below value. Once near the closing of his bid check what he's selling for and how many user are actually in a "war" to get him... then Power Bid (aka fire a bid 100k more than what they're already bidding) to jump the price of the sell up quickly. If you have enough money continue to do this until you've targeted 1 user with enough money and desire to get in a war with you over your player. Once you've bid the user up enough to make a larger profit then stop bidding and collect. IF the other user gives up then really there's no penalty you basically bought your own player back and only lose the small percentage taken by BB... Seriously if you put a guy on the market for less than you'd really like to make from selling him then OH WELL that's your fault! BB is allowing the seller to penalize the buyer because the seller marked his guy down for too little...

Lets look at this from a real world marketing scenario... If i go to the grocery store and kraft has a new cereal out they put on the shelf for $1.50 and i go to buy it and they realize oh we really would like to make $3.50 when i ring out they can't jump in and give the cashier $3.50 so i now have to pay $3.75 to get the product they originally marked at $1.50...

Lets go to something people more related an auto auction said person selling the car puts the car at what he feels is what he wants from it... Now he could have a "ringer" in the crowd bidding it up (that i am ok with cuz if said ringer accidentally wins auction then oops) but the owner can't jump in and bid on what he just put up for sell. In BB are there some ringers or people with 2 teams doing illegal stuff yes and can BB catch all of them no thats a product of the system. But to ignore the fact that owners are bidding up there own players seems absurd to me...

My conclusion/Suggestion... If an owner would like to do that then FINE allow it, but if they win the bidding war for their own player there should be a Drastic Penalty...

Ok enough of my rant sorry to my league you'll had to read this but hopefully it gets BB GMS attention. because i think this action needs to be regulated better.

Well, unfortunately we can't do anything about that. The one good thing is that if the player is re-bought, his time on the club is reset to zero and it's counted as a transfer in the last 14 weeks, so if the player is re-listed shortly thereafter, the owner will get a lot lower percentage the second time.

With that said, it's permitted currently. I don't like it - I can see letting someone do it to try to rebuy their player if they didn't want to sell them or need them in case another player got injured, or if they set the wrong starting price, but using it as a "set a low price, then drive up bids at the end" tactic sucks. It's one of the reasons I also don't have a lot of sympathy for people who list players low and get 'screwed' if the site goes down - if you want to make sure a player sells for a million, you can list him at that. If you don't and he doesn't, too bad.

Well i appreciate the response. And i can see the opportunity to make an adjustment if a player gets an injury and now all of a sudden that player is needed. But in my opinion the chances of that scenario happening is really low. And what i have found more recently (I've been a user for a while now) is that it is becoming a selling tactic. Its a very wise tactic and great way to really maximize selling value sadly i have had a couple of these instances happen recently and i didn't realize what the guy was doing because i didn't think to look and see if the person i was bidding against was the owner that's never crossed my mind. but as i've seen it happening more recently i've been paying attention. even a friend of mine on BB has had it happen to her multiple times as well. and often what happens is it prolongs the auction time long enough for someone else to potentially jump in and bid. And once the bid has reached a price the seller is pleased with he just doesn't jump back in the bid and now has made in 1 instance an additional 300k.

Injuries, and gameshap have, admittedly, left my team in a precarious position right before the playoffs that I'll win, but all the same, I have no earthly idea how I lost tonight. None.

Well here is the REAL thing... I am debating throwing our last game in order to give you home court for our first playoff game. Since we split the gate revenue 50-50... I think that full your arena makes more money than mine does. Even though i have more seats your pricing is better and your very large luxury box section i think gives you the edge. So i have a couple of days to decide how i want to approach our game Saturday. you know if you CT me you will make it way easier for me to just play my bench.

Whatever man!!! you can sell that smoke to someone knew to BB. I know in the playoffs you can be 10-12 and if you have a home game its 99% full!

Secondly Saturday's game for you is a home game to close out the season i'm going to guess you make $235,000 on our game saturday. which would be an increase from your usual gate revenue.

Thirdly i'm not blowing up the team. Tommy has about 3 Great seasons left before he has 2-3 good ones and then 1 ok season. lol Blowing the team up doesn't seem like a good idea. SO you can take that idea to someone else bud lmao
