Round 2: Sharks Nibble on Calamari: 106-104

Second round is behind us, and the sharks maintain their tiny foothold against the Calamari, slightly increasing their lead from 1 to 2. The Eastern Conference fired up this week, with the Gladiator's and Home Axis nabbing the top 2 spots in comfortable wins.

Over on the West side, Koopasaurus maintains his strangle hold on the top spot, getting another big win against fellow Shark mate Urmummas. The Calamari dominate the rest of the leaderboard, holding positions 2 through 5. The only blackspot on the Calamari West's record is Mr Chumunga, who currently holds the wooden spoon.

Here's a look at the ladders:

Great work Akuma. Bainsy did you read we have spots two to five? Surely Koop can't hold off all of us!

As long as we hold the minor premiership in each conference, we will get the bonus points.

no koop not minor premiership
they have to be the champions - i.e. they win the playoffs.

The number 1 team at the end of the season is not necessarily going to be the team that wins the bonus points

Sharks Pull Ahead 108-102

Round 3 is done, and what a round. The Sharks have now pulled ahead with a convincing lead of 108 to 102. Further, both the West and the East is led by Shark teams, Koop with a 21 PD lead, and the Gladiators with a 17 point lead.

Inter-federation match of the round, Winnerz vs TeamAkuma! TeamAkuma dealt the Calamari a vicious bite by taking out the game by the narrowest of margins - 82-81. Duffman had a dominating performance with 31 points 20 boards, while Smeltz redeemed himself with a very respectable 18 points 14 boards. Special mention also to Maclean who dished out 8 assists and held his opponent to 1-18 from the field!

It is time for the Calamari to pull their socks up and try to fight back, but do they have what it takes? Who knows. According to some of the Sharks GM, unlikely!
